I put 10cc's of LC in this bag on 11-5 and broke it up several times. This is what I have now, obviously less than optimal in my eyes.
What would be the appropriate course of action here? Go ahead and break it up and spawn it and see what happens?
Or??

Not worth cutting the bag open and see if I can get a few to clone or print? I haven't gotten the first fruit from this variety, most disappointing.

Spawn it, top fruit it, whatever. Youβll get fruits. Top fruiting probably best for this.

If you spawn it use dry coir and go 1:1, your best best would be to topfruit it of use some kind of fruiting chamber and fruit as is. Xmight not recover from beingbroke up again looks bacterial af

Possible contam? I got a βyetiβ syringe with black spores so itβs suspect to begin with, it grew incredibly fast and there are black bits. Should I isolate these or are they fine?

Is that water a third of the way up the last jar? If so, grain prep is way off

Theyβre BRF jars, and no, there is no water in the jar. The substrate hydration may be a bit off since itβs my first go but it was made with the standard formula of verm, brf and water at a 2-1-1 ratio respectively. If anything Iβm afraid they may be too dry from the PC I did.

I think the black is spores? Hard to tell make sure the black doesnβt spread. If it does toss it lol

I'll just throw some coir in there, poke some holes in the bag and see what happens.
Thanks all

Can anyone share what their average failure rate is for spores not germinating on agar? I seem to be at around 25% and I'm not sure if it's me or just bad syringes.

Philberto said: I found four contaminated plates. Obviously couldn't open them up previously but now that they're going in the trash I took the lids off to take a better look. I would just like opinions on if things look normal other than the contamination. The first picture is from when I added a spore syringe to agar in order to start mycelium. It grew out very flat but I took transfers from it that seem to be successful
Regarding these next three, I was just hoping to get opinion on how good or bad the mycelium is. I have already transferred from them so like I said, they are going in the garbage
Also is there anything to be learned from the type of contamination shown here? Thanks in advance.

That seems high to me, personally I've only had one syringe that didn't germ on agar.

QQ: When fruiting is occurring does small water beads on the surface of the mycelium impact growth at all? And if so how should one go about avoiding or removing them?

You want those there. No pooling, but beads of moisture are exactly what you want to see

These stipes have dried to a very off putting yellow/green/brown. I think it was because I threw them on the dehydrator for a few hours before shutting it off for the night. (Some nights itβs in my room and makes it to warm to sleep). Has anyone else seen this? Could it be bacterial or just poor drying protocol.

Okay so I know the issues to large to FC I actually only put holes in the bottom top and not as many on the sides were drying out rapidly until I can get a smaller FC tomrorow I put a small plate in there with a little water and set the cake in that ?? Will that be okay until I can get a better fc
Also guys what a beautiful pin set for pf but B+ does that

How often are you misting them?
Yes itβs dry. You could put them in a little dish of water. Itβs not unheard of, but also if you mist them once or twice a day, just through this harvest, you might be ok.
Also, you could simply cover up some of your holes with tape until you start seeing improvement.
