Not sure what you mean, and whether it is a question, but I have the idea that you think your supposedly slow grow is because it is not wet enough. I think it looks pretty wet already. Leave it alone and watch it grow. Messing with it will disturb it.

yeah as long as i wasn't hard drinking canoeing down the river with a few beers on a good trip was alright. but drinking and shrooms together now since i quit 5 years ago would probably be strange. I'll never know.

Same boat, I quit drinking eight years ago but I loved drinking and tripping when I did.
Caution: I’ve come out of drinking trips standing naked in the yard with no idea why.

Room temp, glass jar, away from light.

In 12-step meetings, if you quit drinking and hard drugs, but still do psychedelics, some people call that "California sober."
There are a bunch of those on here.

Thanks that's what I've been doing but I looked it up again since im storing so much atm and a few places were recommending freezing or a fridge after drying so I doubted myself :p

I only have a single beer when I'm feeling too amped up, less then 2 beers a week. I usually only get high when I'm feeling low. The hardest part about cannabis, is once I start that day, I lose inhibition and don't like to come down until bedtime, so I develop a love/hate relationship with it if I'm not careful and spend too much time being high to think straight. I haven't nailed down a specific for psilocybin, but I don't mix it either.
So you could say, I prefer to use these things medicinally. I don't like to mix the effects of drugs very much.

I do room temp, away from light, but vacuum sealed, with no desiccant. Haven't done extremely long term test, but recently ate some that I packed that method 2 years and 9 months ago, they were as strong as the day I packed them.
There's a thread about that on here: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27660402/fpart/1/vc/1

I had poor results from vacuum sealing. I had cheapo vac bags, better bags would probably help. I store in glass jars or mylar zipper pouches, at room temp in a dark closet. I toss a desiccant pack in, but it's probably optional.

The bags I use do maintain vacuum. Did yours not?
QuantumZ00; One thing I would not recommend for anyone looking for long term storage, no matter how you store it, is grinding it into a powder. I've heard of people doing that to save space.
That increases the surface area, which will get oxygen into more of it, which makes psilocin (not psilocybin) inert with time.
Store shrooms as full shrooms, or stems and caps, as intact as you can get them in the dehydrator.
I dehydrate at 165 to 185 F (two different dehydrators, both are fine) for 24 hours until cracker dry, so they snap (not bend) if you bend them.
A lot of new people on here think that heat will "hurt the potency", it will not at those temps. Potency will be more likely ruined by being stored not totally dry.

QQ: How should I proceed with this BRF puck? We were away for a couple of days and this morning I found this:

The other day I could see the teeny-tiny cluster starting to form, it was exciting. But now I realize that I only kinda have a plan.
Should I just pop the puck out and slap 'er in a smallish ziploc? The other x7x+ puck looks to ba a few days behind.
Thank you all for your expertise.

do not store mushrooms in the freezer. That’s old old advice. Long term freezing WILL destroy actives

??? I was going to let them grow more before harvesting. I was asking about how I should fruit it, like should I top with coir or verm and fruit in-jar? Or remove puck, dunk(?), place in ziploc with teeny holes - a la Fahtloc?
Sorry for the confusing verbiage, it's monday.

Sorry I was responding to a different conversation 😂
If I had pins that far long I would go ahead and fruit it as is, then prepare it for a second flush afterwards. I’d probably put that puck as it is in a shallow dish with a little water in it and let it go. Ziplock would be fine

So I've seen this mentioned before about powdered storage and it makes sense. I saw there was someone who did a long term storage test and his results saw the capsules he made holding up the best and Im curious to know if the capsules are the ticket to the preservation there or if it was some other variable. I just made about 300 capsules to save space, so I guess we'll see.

Yeah, they did maintain vacuum, but would suffer moisture ingress over time. It's counter intuitive, but it happens. Someone on here did some research into it a while back. Cheap vac bags have poor rating for moisture blocking. I suspect the vacuum worked against me in those permeable bags I had. If pressure can't equalize with air but CAN slowly pull moisture through the material it definitely will. The universe gets peavish about pressure imbalances. 😆
