Yes. Compost bin ftw.
Also, your positive attitude is commendable.

Milkboy. I'm a noob but as a experiment I sterilized cut off swab ends clamped into hemostat forceps. I then used the sterile tools to swab clean agar cultures before dropping the swab ends into grain jars for inoculation.
Performance was very poor most did nothing 1 jar was successful. My guess is the mycelium dried out before getting a chance to jump off.
I know this isnt what you asked but thought I'd share my experience.

If so should it be at 15 psi for an hour and a half with the whole bag and all put in (raised so its not directly on the bottom)?
Thanks!

That's the picture of an insta pot, not a PC. The difference is that you have to basically "trust" the insta pot to really be at 15 PSI and have no way to know for sure. Where with a PC you do know. I know 2 people who owned an insta pot intended for sterilization and both returned it within a few uses.
I'm not saying it's not going to work or anything, but if it's not too late already you might want to consider a PC.
Whatever you do, best of luck to you

You can't sterilize grains in an instant pot, not suitable as an autoclave.
More like this:

How do you guys calculate your spawn:bulk ratio.
For me, let's say I want to do 1:3, I will mesure mycoquarts (let's call that 600ml) for both sides. So 1 mycoquart spawn for 1800ml bulk (1:3)
I know some/many will calculate in mycoquarts for spawn but full quarts (950ml or so) for spawn. So those people would call 600ml spawn and 2850ml bulk a 1:3 ratio.
The difference in considerable. I know in the end it doesn't matter so much and is up to everyone's experience and preference (the 1:3 ratio here was purely given as an example) but still I'm curious if you guys count mycoquart:mycoquart or mycoquart:fullquart when you talk about your ratio.

Thanks!

I'd look up the specs on your Cuisinart model but I'm betting it might reach 15psi but then the heat will shut off and it will actually cook in the 12-13psi range for the bulk of the time. That is what my instant pot does anyway.
I do all my grain sterilization in an instant pot and it is small but works well none the less. Is it as good as a pc? No it's probably not. But it is set and forget most definitely. I just have to let em go 3.5 hrs but no worries cuz there is no babysitting involved.
Check this chart out on sterilization times and psi you need to reach.

RR did his grain in a steam barrel outside for 12 hrs on 1-2psi. It just takes more time the lower you go.

How could I see my 4-4qt or 4 bags/16 qts in that chart? I know to do it 3.5hrs but not sure how to convert to big bags?

So, just fyi guys....that chart is useless.
Instant pots are not appropriate for grain; maybe you can get away with liquid media? Still though...
Instant pot's are not appropriate equipment for microbiology, period. Do not buy an instant pot hoping that it will work as an autoclave. You will not find an instant pot in a hospital, dentists office tattoo parlor, mycology/microbiology lab etc.
Why?
Because they're for making soup, yogurt, etc. They're are not suitable for the purpose of effectively destroying thermophilic bacterial endospores.

I wonder what happened to AKA and Chron. They were using them and both were TC and Chron was MOD. So there is people using them.

If it stays at 15psi it will.

Like I said, liquids.
They're not using them for grain sterilization.
You again, eh,
