Looks like spores to me.
I can't zoom but I see no trich at this time.

Parafilm is a fantastic tool. I use it. I use cling at times too. Both are very useful.

I get 10 plates stacked up then pour melted wax over the whole thing. Very secure.

It is spores.
Spores are purple so when they drop they give it a purple / pink hue. Darker in some places.

These are the most interesting puzzles.
It is hard to imagine tap water being bad enough to kill a grow but as it's the common link, I guess I would also swap it out next time.
Maybe there is some weird environmental factor. If it's usually getting trich, maybe the location where the work is done is just loaded with trich spores for some reason. Maybe try preparing a tub in a completely different room... Maybe a different house, if possible.
Very strange. I look forward to the happy ending.
I dunno, I live in the cascades in a temperate rainforest and our trich spore load is about as heavy as it gets. I can do SAB work in the same room I mix soil in, as long as it's clean it's no problem.

Hello there
Can anyone tell me what this weird dense / marshmallowy / "blob"-like mycelium (?) growth is on my PF cakes and what I should do about it?

I birthed, dunked and rolled these about 6 days ago, using the Water Tub Tek. The coco coir layer endede up rather thick, but already after 1 day the mycelium started regenerating, or so I thought. There's now some normal looking mycelium and some lonely pins visible and a lot of this weird "blob" like stuff, which looks very dense and is white.

Those are "blobs". It's a fancy technical term.
That is a genetic response. The blobs are just as active. Is that APE?

So I just got unlucky with my syringe? It's weird because I used a GT syringe and Escondido, no PE, and it happens on all of the cakes. I stumbled across the term "blobs" when searching the forum for this, but it seems that blobs are mostly a thing with PE?
I honestly don't feel confident enough about this to consume these blobs.

Most likely sectoring due to enmeshed mold. I had that a while back from a print I received, took me an eternity to clean up unfortunately.

Any issues with sterilising agar mix twice? I miscalculated & didn't add enough so it's not solidifying.
Would rather not have to chuck it but if overcooking is a thing I shall.
It's Agar, LME & Dextrose.
