Panaeolus growers -
Do you buy rep bangged manure or pellets, or source from local farms?
I have alot of manure fresh but it's been inhabited by rats and all sorts. Can I just pasterise it or do you recommend buying in pre-composted?

The rat thing makes me nervous lol. I’m assuming they brought all sorts of inorganic debris in there? I use field aged manure sourced from local horse farms

If I had say 400lbs of hemp hurd sitting around and I wasn't able to sterilize all of it soon enough and some of it began get moldy. Would I later still be able to sterilize the mold off of it and use it?

Os an old school smoker I’m continuously amazed by all the new ways to consume cannabis these days. What happened to just smoking a joint.

Doobie or not doobie.... What was the question?

I need some help. I got some Tamp Lc which looked pretty thin compared to cube lc´s. I inoculated some quart jars with it each 2,5 ml six days ago but so far no growth :/ Do they need longer then cubes to grow onto the grains or did i do something wrong? Temps are sadly pretty low (62-64F). Ty

A little background. I have 4 pint jars that all look substantially similar to this this. They were nearing full colonization about 5 days ago. But, there were a number of grains on the tops that just didn't seem to be moving. Posted on here. I was told it was likely that there was drying going on. So I did a light break and shake, and quickly had good recovery up to what it looks like now. I have not seen the myc getting appreciably thicker. I do think that the moisture might be off with maybe too large a gas exchange. I don't really see much moisture in any of the jars at this point. Feel like I just need to send them to spawn (this will be my first STB).

I believe I was the one telling you to give em a shake. I think you should still wait a couple more days until spawning. You wanna make sure the mycelium was able to take hold of those grains that were uncolonized before the shake. Can take a few days for the myc to bounce back but it looks like its beginning to take off again.
Just a lil longer man you're almost there, dont rush it

Have you ever tried agave syrup for LC? Does it work well? Is it better or worse than light corn syrup? If I couldn't find light corn syrup (only raw, yellowish, and untransparent corn syrup is available locally), but I can get light agave syrup, could I use it for LC? Or would it be better to stick with the untransparent yellowish corn syrup? Thank you

I don’t know what’s in the stuff you’re calling light corn syrup, but I use a lot of agave and it’s approximately 80% fructose and 20% glucose. As long as your corn syrup is mostly fructose, it’ll work similar to agave.

Mine is field sourced which I have kept at my garden. But I have seen holes in it which I expect to be rats, they are all over the area with people keeping chickens which brings them in.
Iust have a put 4 tonne of horse 💩 which has been composting over 2 years lol.

Corn syrup like Karo.
Light means transparent, isn't it? I was told this is the best for LC because it's transparent and nutrients % is good. What's your personal choice for the LC? And what do you think about dextroze only LC? Thanks

Fucking send that shit man! I’d still use it on that note. Let us know how it goes!
Now for my question lol. Anyone know anything about aeruginascin in cubensis. I have toque here with green spots that don’t rub away. Potentially an indicator of aeruginascin alkaloid usually found in woodlovers but most recently appearing now in cubensis?

Aeruginascin is believed to be responsible for the body load experienced with woodlovers, natalensis and cubensis. Pans do not contain aeruginascin. Certain strains of cubensis have higher levels of aeruginascin than others. The Cubensis strain I had from Florida provided minimal body load, likely due to its low aeruginascin content. https://psychedelicreview.com/wood-lover-paralysis-from-magic-mushrooms-the-aeruginascin-hypothesis/ This is kind of hypothesis, but it sounds legit to me, because the molecule is similar to bufo.

Yeah, in natalensis and some cubensis were greenish.

Sab is ur best chance at it any way. Move like a sloth, once pins out the plate cover plate again. If you can cut pin in half and split it between 2 plates easily, try it. You can swipe pins across plates like you spread out a spore drop to get multiple germ points before plunking it in.
Another choice is the poke, but you kinda gotta be over the mold more. Either way has up and down.
E/ guess I wasn't on last page. Gonna leave anyway.
