Well…back at it again. Millet PC @15 for 1.5HRs inoculated with Fahts PE on 6/24. I have shaken twice and here is where I am at….so I shake again this time or just leave it be and see if it ever fully colonizes? There’s a larger clump of colonized millet in the middle I remember from the last time.

I would let that grow out untill the points of mycelium colonize at least 3 layers/rows of the surrounding grain bro then shake her
This is a little bit longer than I usually wait for a shake but good example of shake worthy You want the mycelium to have good footing before you shake , if u shake too soon then it will be counterproductive

Is there an "on average" how many flushes?
Like just do 3 flushes total with no soaking besides misting tub?
I also read somewhere some people soak with a little honey!?
Thanks

I like to do 2 flushes. Some people keep them around longer but the yield diminishes with each flush and contam is likely so it's not really worth the time in my eyes.
I dunk between each flush. Definetely helps with yields. Never tried soaking in honey

Some people soak their sub between flushes.
Others like to heavily spray the sub down for a couple days after harvest.
I have tried both and both work but I like to soak. Imo it helps the next flush.
I usually get about 3-4 flushes. A lot of the people around here only run a couple because of the diminishing returns.

Thanks guys for the "soaking answers" that really helps!
I have another question please? At this spawn magic site he says that rye truly sucks and there changing to Milo...lol
https://spawnmagic.com/product/3-lbs-grain-spawn/
I don't think they've changed the picture as I think Milo is small and round like a tiny BB.
Thanks

Quick question. Once a syringe has been uncapped can it be sealed and stored if not all the liquid/spores are used? If so how is best to store it? Thanks in advance

Absolutely. Iso and flame your needle, then cap it. It’ll be fine.

Spores are always dirty and so trying to keep it sterile is pointless. Just keep the cap on and make sure it doesn't get crushed while it's being stored.
Best way to store is a fridge according to my spore vendor, although I never bothered. I use up a syringe in a month or two anyways. Prints last a lot longer, once you get one print u can easily refill a syringe until it breaks.

Smart plan. Foil is very cheap and mushrooms drop spores for free. An endless bounty awaits.

Collecting spores is so satisfying too. These things proliferate like crazy if you know how to do it.
