Rumfor, I can’t speak to that culture specifically, though I worked at farm a few back and we were getting 3-4lbs per 5lb block. Blocks consisted of wood chips, sawdust, mustard hulls, and spent brewers grain, forgive me I cannot remember the ratios from so long ago. The extent of our methods were hosing the blocks down after taking them from the bag. We never rehosed them again, just let em ride till they shriveled. Hope this helps.

I think that’s a good estimate! One other note I forgot, I can not confirm that this was useful though in our side by sides it appeared to initiate good first flushes. We would slap the blocks several times before unbagging them, in an effort to simulate ground vibrations from storms and such. I gotta get back to gourmets at some point…

Nate, that’s a fair point, I’m just basing off what I remember from back then so it’s possible my numbers aren’t 100% accurate. A few things I’ll say, we were far from accurate in our weighing our substrate out so there is discrepancy within that. We also ran blocks through several flushes, often blocks would be fruiting for several months. That being said I’m also taking estimates given what I remember from harvesting a room fulls total weight over my estimate for how many blocks, so bad estimations on either of those values could heavily skew. I should have stated better how I was making this estimate, also having it been a long time ago things can be skewed. I am far from an expert and base things off what I can remember from that time. I appreciate that breakdown though, it’s a good reminder to explain how I come to these things better, so thanks for that. I do recall us having very good yields on them though.

The place I get bulk verm from says the same.
Same man, the folks at the hydro store and the stables get their gifts every time I see them. Farmers like tripping too, maybe not be for everyone but every stable or family I’ve gotten poo from has been down to trade…

Bispo growers: what is a rough timeline to see pins? It colonized the substrate suuuuper fast. 3 days from s2b to full colonization. Just curious if there’s a reliable window like with your average cubes
Mine always start to pop about 7-10 days post casing. Could take longer or shorter, but I always bank on about a week-week n a half, and they haven’t let me down yet!

I find it helps, but they’ll grow without one, I’ve personally not ventured into uncased but seems others have had good results without.
