Definitely have bacteria on the lot. The fuzzy growths are most likely molds. I would say the B+ (larger growths not circled) is your best bet but would like a well lit pic on a dark background (not backlit) to get a better read on it. What’s your source and technique? Best to xfer a small amount of material (myc/tissue/agar) to the center of the plate. Spores are best streaked/spread across the surface of the plate so you can pick out faster stronger cultures and not have them all piled on top of each other.

I would streak a drop of the LC to spread it out. You can make a loop with a paper clip or the wire from a twisty tie….really, any small gauge wire will work. You can sterilize swabs by wrapping in foil and pc’ing.
Edit: or what Aye said.

Looks more like bruising…which could be from drying next to your filter. Could also happen as a result of damage from a tam but if it goes green, you’ll know for sure. Sit tight.

Wouldn’t necessarily have to be trich, could be a variety of things but nonetheless would be unwanted. Trich usually bubbles up white first and then goes green.

The issue with alcohol tinctures is that the actives aren’t very soluble in ethanol.

Honestly, I’ve never made a tincture but the actives are way more soluble in water. There’s info on water/alcohol tinctures for medicinal mushrooms on the gourmet board. That might be a better approach.

Hardwood fuel pellets supplemented with bran and sterilized in filter bags. Inoculated with clean spawn and resealed. Once colonized, cut a slit on the side and wrap the top of the bag over and fruit in cool high humidity.

Bbq pellets are too expensive so yeah, the stove type as they’re cheaper. LM is supposed to be good for the brain.

LM is one of the tastiest hands down. @ Shrimps - I think I ran 20% bran. It’s really just so you can cut back the amount of spawn used so not critical to use. You mix it with the hfp, hydrate and sterilize.

I would agree with that. The first 2 are knots (yes, the first is hyphae but if you zoom in you can seed the knots all over it). The last has all 3.

Wish I had a dissection scope. Some orchid seeds. These clumps didn’t separate when I plated them. Not sure why but those in the clumps are developing faster than those on the medium. iPhone pic through loop.

Sweet pic, Greg!

Nice! Those are orange Cattleya, Orange Guarianthe aurantiaca. I have a few different genera going. This is the farthest along of my first cross of some noid phals I plated about 6 months ago. Germ wasn’t great but they’re coming along.
