fruits from a quite bacterial jar, spawned on 14th of aug in a deep shoebox. more of an experiment to see if Natalensis will handle the bacteria and how .
guess the marks on the stems and the hole in the cap are bacteria related? any ideas? still safe to use when properly dried i imagine?

No, that's for future flushes... but you need to be sure and mix the gypsum in by hand, otherwise you'll get contamz 💯

yes, ime plates that have gone to the fridge at a certain point and then continued growing at room temp showed this kind of "rings" . makes sense too. but the scattered white dots. if it was a germination plate, but a t2? i dont really get that.

it did the job for me. LC doesnt need huge amounts of air exchange. one 1/8th inch hole with 3 layers of mp tape. easy. but i don't know if thats general consensus. just my 2c

Go ahead and cross. Fresh cubes in ranch last night. They are tasty plain, but my wife wanted the ranch so I tried it too.

Winston Smith said: What would cause a jar to dry out, especially if others don't?
3 qt jars worth of WBS rinsed excessively with hot water. Soaked for roughly 20 hours. Rinsed again with hot water. Strained and laid out to dry for about 40 min.
2 of 3 are already g2g in bags. Third jar (pictured below). Seems to have stalled and dried.
I shook it back when it was roughly 20 percent colonized, it continued to grow for a bit, but once the other 2 jars that were prepped at the same time were g2g'd I noticed this one seemed dry so I shook it again in hopes of rushing the rest of it along. That didn't happen. Instead most of the grains have regrown myc, but it's not actually colonizing anymore.
What say y'all? I'm hoping I can still g2g it to bags as long as I ensure they're perfectly hydrated to make up for this dryness.
EDIT: I want to add that I last shook this on 10/29 and it showed signs of bouncing back within 24 hrs but hasn't progressed further.

sorry, i cant help you with it so i bump your question. i am (as i am faithful to oats ) wondering how its possible to soak a grain for 20hrs and it hydrates properly? amazing. i cook oats for about 40 minutes in a full on boil. pretty sure soaking it for 20hrs wouldnt do the trick. can't comment on wbs though.

Thanks, it wasn't to show spore dropping, I just thought it interesting the not so easy to see through the bacterial solution as the non-bacterial solution could easily be seen through like his test showed...
Will go watch stipe and cap right now, thanks...
