Quick question,
Should someone remove sunflower seeds when using WBS for spawn that will be used directly and not expanded?
No, prep your wbs correctly and they're just fine.

I've germinated 16 year old spores wrapped in tinfoil stored in the fridge.

I only hydrate older spores, swabs are streaked and stabbed.

I wouldn't send that yet, still lots of different growth there.

Don't box yourself in, take some from a few areas. You have good looking growth but you want to try isolate uniformity if it's rhizo or not.

No real need unless I want to save the spores and have no other choice. It's time consuming and dirty.

Dr Myc, oh dear.
You can just bottom water or soak the sub if you want to but there's no need for a turkey baster.

Yes it's all been tried before, the additional nutrients are either of no added nutritional value or they are complex sugars that bacteria and other competitors molds find very inviting.
We use grain for a reason, if you want sustained flushes you use more grain but it will all lose biological efficiency over time either way.
It's better to cycle the grow to maintain the yield rather than prolonging the grow.

It doesn't make a difference, spores will drop after you harvest the cap either way.

You only create controls if you're unsure about your technique as Guerrilla has said, otherwise you use immediately.

Lc is really there to create a usable culture to kick start the grow so you keep it low on nutes to force the mycelium to spread through the lc otherwise it would not really spread and is more susceptible to contamination with the higher nutrient percentage.

Yep cook time doesn't go down because your cooker is efficient, it just uses less energy to heat.
