The mental health industry makes more money if you stay depressed and stay on medication.

The goal isn't to make you well, the goal is a lifetime captive consumer.

Many antidepressants repeatedly have been shown to work little to no better than placebo.

Depression isn't a disease, it's a societal symptom of a detachment from the natural world we evolved to live in and a severing of our connection with spirit.

When our value system is based on materialism and our interaction with others is based on competition instead of cooperation, we seek what continuously and reliably fails to bring us happiness.

With the value systems we have set up in society it's now wonder most people are depressed. You really think the majority of people are born with genetically caused mental illness?  Depression didn't even exist before modern society came along and gave us all our physical needs and comforts without having any connection to the natural world that we are one with.  When we convince ourselves we are separate from the universe and a victim of random events, it's no wonder we fail to find meaning and joy in life.

Depression does exist but I honestly think it only exists for situational things. Mainly financial issues or job issues or something like that. I've never really met anyone that just got depressed for no reason at all.

I think the only reason people get depressed is because we live in a fucked up world with a fucked up society.

Man in our society are taught to repress their feelings and emotions and not to talk about them. This creates a negative cycle but they don't do anything about it.
