Hey! Please post your favorite teks!
The last time I was here, the MonsterMitch monotubs were rockin, along with the Gaia Bubblers (hydroton with airstones in water in a tub fruitarium)
As far as I know sealed Bags and monos are still in style?

I am a semi-professional mycologist, always happy to offer tips and advice to any extent I can.
-------------------- Teonanacatl, open up my eyes
This sacrament, this prayer, beyond the world of lies
Guide me clearly through that which I dont understand
Give me strength to find the path
Help me fight any demons as you flow through me wholely
This is my prayer, that you protect me from evil, and bring me closer to peace
And open up my eyes, so i can see things as you do
Amen

Whats new is we're trying to figure out these Nats. They're pretty wild.

Here you go: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24144021
In a nutshell: - Germinate spores on agar. Take as many transfers as you need to ensure you have clean growth, and fast-moving cultures. - Prepare grain spawn (rye, wild bird seed, oats, or millet are all commonly used). First you need to hydrate the grains then you need to sterilize them. For hydration, I advise against following teks that use any form of soaking as this promotes fermentation of the grains which has negative impacts on mycelium. For large grains like oats and rye, the best prep is to boil clean water then dump the grains in and boil hard ~20 mins until they are fully hydrated, strain, lay out on a cloth to dry slightly for 15 mins, then load them into mycobags or jars with lids and synthetic filter discs and sterilize them in a pressure cooker (90 mins minimum). - Inoculate the sterilized grains with agar in a SAB or in front of a flow-hood - Allow grains to colonize, shaking a couple of times, to 100% (no less!!!) - If growing cubes, prepare your substrate of coir or coir+vermiculite by hydrating the coir with clean boiling water in a clean cooler and put the top on to pasteurize for 2+ hours. I strongly recommend boiling the water in a brand new pot that you use specifically for this purpose (a used pot can contain nutrient residue that will infuse into the coir and be a vector for contamination), and the same goes for the spoon you mix the coir with and the cooler you use for pasteurization. - Most grow in 33qt or 66qt monotubs, or 6qt shoeboxes. Spawn ratio is anywhere from 1:2 (grain:substrate) to 1:4. Strongly recommend a thin ~1/4" top-layer of substrate on top of your grain+spawn mix, to protect the grains. - Monotub setup and management is too detailed to summarize here so check out the teks in the link above. Shoeboxes are easy - put the lid on and you are done... no vents, no mods.

This is a really nice get-you-up-to-speed thread..thanks to faht and hindsight for this.
I was really lost coming back to cult between the stuff I should have learned correctly back in the day and the new ways and disproved old info.. Head was spinning for a while. This sums it up really nicely

There are new varieties floating around that are crazy looking, and crazy potent.
