Good thing the mods keep a tight lid on this site, otherwise, it would be a far more hostile ecosystem for you long-timers.
Lol, I am privileged. Very much so. I'm white, male, blond hair, blue eyes, classically attractive, outgoing, and very well paid at a job that allows me enough freedom that I don't think I've ever worked a full 40 hour week in my life (but I get paid like I do). The only way that I could be more privileged is if I was born into wealth.
I imagine everybody else's life is much worse. And it will continue to get worse. I am a leftist because I recognize that even though I will be fine no matter what happens, this is not true for everybody else. I would like everybody to live the life that I live. I think it would make the world a happier place.
Also, I think you misunderstood my point about burnout. It used to be a silicon valley phenomenon for highly paid professionals. Now it is common for everybody.

Well, the animal comment was a bit smart assed. But thank you. The topic hits close to home for me and is in the forefront of my thoughts a lot. It also leads to dozens of sub-topics so I have to be careful to stay on track lol. Personally, when things become too complex I like to follow the Mr. Miagi philosophy. Get back to the basics and focus. Miagi say breath. No breath, no life.
With that in mind, I believe depression has several sources and even a few of our bio machine flesh suits might have some flaws.. IE actual problems that can be traced to the physical machine itself and how it was constructed. NOW.. I don't believe there are enough of these physically broken flesh suits to justify an entire industry based on "thought to or believed to." That's unbridled capitalism at work. Trust me. These fuckers are NOT YOUR FRIENDS. They care more about numbers on a spread sheet more than they do the future of their own children. BTW if by some strange chance any of you fuckers are reading this, then I dare you to prove me wrong. (breath chosensan.. breath). Simply put. Stress + sadness + out of focus or balance = depression. Depression is RED ALERT for the Trekies. Little good if any occurs at that stage. Usually a battle ensues. Fire phasers and photons at full spread and definitely put the shields up.

I propose we try a different, much older weapon called awareness. All choices start with it, and most things that lead to depression start with choices. So back to basics it is. For me in this moment anyways.

You’re insufferable. No wonder they keep you around. And no wonder the captive online audience here are the only people who will tolerate you.

Go ahead and hit the ignore button, if you would rather not see what I think.
