Yeah i went there about 2 days ago, and they said they aren't going to carry vermiculite anymore. I was pissed. I wonder if this is happening anywhere else.

Store-bought compost isn't the best stuff for secondary decomposers like Psilocybes. It's usually already had different types of fungi grow through it and it is more intended for garden use than anything else. That stuff works well for tertiary decomposers, though, like Panaelous species.

i was there today and some dipshit kid was like "its probably too early in the season for vermiculite" i was like what the fuck kid i just bought a fuckin bag of it less than a month ago.
vermiculite shortage. not words i like to hear.

Mom 'n' Pop stores will continue to carry it. They could care less if it turns your family into radioactive waste. A big company like Wal-Mart is a prime site for liability suits, though. So they only pulled it because if you bought some vermiculite, inhaled a bit, sneezed too hard and busted a nut, you could sue them for 20-gajillion dollars and probably win it.
