G2G - As in Growkit 2 Grain - Anyone tried that?

I have a growkit which is not a spawn bag but rather a ready substrate with inoculated grains.
Can I use this to inoculate grains in jars? Or is the contamination risk to high from these grow kits?
I have a LFH it that helps.
Here is a link to the kit and some pics:

That is a terrible idea considering grow kits are not clean for the most part.

That plan is very likely to fail. Adding colonized grain to sterile grain is a tried and true method so your thinking is not far off. IF that spawn was totally clean you could do what you are talking about if you have the right gear, but it would be very difficult to transfer grain from that little tub to a jar or another container without ruining it. It is a matter of logistics and the shape of that little tub is not conducive for grain transfers.
If you wanted to save that culture in live form, you would want to take just a grain or two and transfer them to agar, or some other easily toggled sterile nutritious media, then watch and transfer clean growth till all you have is clean growth. Then you have a live culture that you can use in any way you like.
Good luck. Keep asking questions and keep thinking.

A couple months ago I inoculated 5 plates from a Lions Mane growkit to agar using biopsy with a 14ga needle through a fresh slit in the bag and into heavy mycelium. Two plates contaminated, one didn't grow, and two were clean enough to transfer. Made two LC jars from one of them and they both went bacterial. Then made 3 transfers to agar from the best-looking plate, and got no contamination on those. Finally, got two clean LC's from the 2nd-gen transfers.
And that was starting from a fully colonized grow bag.
If you have a LFH, I'll bet you have plenty of agar plates as well
At least for Lions Mane, it's easy enough to buy a nice clean culture syringe.
