Plastic containers for agar

I made some agar containers: Are they need parafilm?
They are liquid tight but i can rotate a lid without opening, so i think they are not air tight. Thanks

The box says the lids snap on. I would not think they are airtight. As Big Dub says, use Saran wrap for the parafilm. Good luck.

You don't need them to be airtight, in fact the opposite is true. Your agar (or rather the mycelium trying to grow on it, needs FAE (fresh air exchange).
I have wrapped the edges of my petris with Saran Wrap (allows fae), and I have also gone un-wrapped just putting the stacks of petris back into the plastic sleeve since I am inspecting them in front of a flowhood.
I'd say Saran Wrap the edges for the win.

If I use parafilm or cling film then FAE will be not possible.. So should i do this or not?
And I've got more questions about:
1.I keep them upside down becasue of condensation. How long should I keep them until i can start to use them?
2. Can I use it? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09289L9R2/ref=twister_B093WNSPX8?_encoding=UTF8&th=1

Yes parafilm and Saran Wrap will allow FAE. I promise. I have done it for years.
1. No need to keep them upside down, just pour them when the agar is cooler and it will cut down on condensation, and you can use them as soon as they cool to room temp.
2. I am pretty sure grafting tape won't work. There is something specific, excuse me for not knowing the science, that allows parafilm and Saran Wrap to breathe.

I don't think OP is pouring agar into these. If they were I imagine they would just use actual petris. For doing no pours I found that as soon as the pressure cooker naturally releases all pressure, take your cups of agar out of the cooker and stack them and maybe even wrap them in a towel to cutt down on condensation by slowly cooling.
If you're working infront of a flow hood you can carefully pour out any excess condensation. Either way though, its not a big deal unless you have bacteria problems.

They have a small hole with microtape on the side. I made it before sterilisation ofc Are you sure that saran wrap/cling film can breathe?!

Yes you are right, i made them by no pour method, thats why i use it instead petris.
I left containers inside the pressure cooker overnight and i open PC next day, so they are naturally cooled down.
I have only SAB.Problem about excess of water is visibility.

The hole in the cups covered with micropore tape will make the condensation dissapear over time.
Leave them for a week or two and they should be clearer. This will also let you see if they grow contamination or not.

Like I said, when your pressure cooker reaches 0 psi and the saftey valve drops then take them out and stack them wrapped in a towel to sit and cool down. It will cutt down on the condensation.

Normal bath towel or paper towel? What can I do with this one?

Bath towel with sets of several stacked. The idea is to slowly cool it when you take it out.

Do you think that a Styrofoam box can work instead of towels?
