What’s the difference in mouses? * 1
    #27805827 - 06/04/22 03:12 PM (1 year, 7 months ago)

I have a standard mouse I got for like $10 at target but I dropped the thing too many times and the thing that holds the battery in place broke off. Anyway I ordered a Razer DeathAdder 6400 DPI but saw a 10,000 DPI for double the price but figured I didn’t need it. Sometimes I feel like my normal mouse is lagging like especially when aiming from a car it’s hard. I wonder how different this will be also bought a mouse pad so it’s got a good surface. What do you PC gamers use for a mouse?

I know the best feature for gaming mouses are the thumb buttons on the side for optimization. The rgb is cool, but in the end the switch for sensetivity between games is why i buy them.

I bought a Razer DeathAdder V2 in February last year. It's a good mouse, better than the cheap electronic shop ones I had been using. It also came with software that slows down other applications when you're playing games to give you better performance.

I prefer mice with a cable to wireless mice though, but wireless mice are probably better for competitive gamers...

I use a deathadder elite.  You do want to make sure you get a good gaming mousepad to go with it so the laser reads properly off the surface.  I use a hard pad that has a frame on it so it never warps.

Higher DPI does not mean better.  I usually play games at around 1800dpi and I use the DPI buttons near the scroll wheel to adjust it down for things where I need fine tuned sniping and stuff.  Higher DPI just means you're wrist has to travel less distance for your character to spin for example, which can be great in some games, and horrible for others where you need smooth slow motions.

Nah.  Wireless = unstable and laggy.  Not that it's necessarily true, but that's the conventional wisdom.

Oh I got a wired one coming mainly because I don’t like charging or changing batteries. I got a cool mouse pad coming the mouse and it should be here tomorrow. However I don’t really notice a lag with my current mouse and have been using it without a mouse pad since I got it. I wonder if I’ll notice a difference in gameplay I just can’t drop it. I haven’t dropped my laptop I have nightmares about dropping it. Dang thing was like $1,800 it has a 4K screen.

I got one of those weird ass sideways mice when my regular mouse died, Actually helps quite a bit with wrist strain. Says Zelotes C-18 on the bottom, IDK, it was the cheapest one on amazon.

I doubt you need to worry about DPI, and even then, it becomes a question of mousepad space. One of my buddies is a pro CSGO player, and he has a 3x4 foot mousepad because he's got his DPI as low as possible for sniping.

Unless you're playing competitive twitch shooters, I wouldn't worry about it. Just buy something cheap and reliable.

Dang I spent $30 on pizza and beer at a bar/restaurant but my stuff showed up. That’s my setup I think the mouse pad looks cool but I’m to drunk to play video games right now I think I’ll test it later.

Damn, nice mousepad! :awepreciation: :trippinbawelz:

As for your question, higher DPI means better precision and sensitivity on a mousepad surface (or whatever you use as a surface). Laser has the best but the optical ones are still really nice.

I have a Chinese RGB wireless optical mouse. Works nice. I use a controller for the games i play so i dont really pay attention the precision of my mouse movements.

Other way around. Higher DPI means that your mouse cursor moves further on the screen for a given meatspace movement. Lower DPI gives you more precision, because moving your mouse an inch to the left slightly adjusts your aim to the left instead of spinning your character three times.
