Small slow growing golden teacher... Genetics or me??
    #27809535 - 06/07/22 10:15 AM (2 years, 7 months ago)

This is my second attempt at a grow. They are growing real slow and are small. The mycelium also grew slowly with no odvious contamination or smell, but never really seemed happy. I kept spores in fridge over the winter. Temps during mycelium growth was around 70-74. Took maybe 6-8 weeks to fully colonize the one pint jar. Been fruiting for 3 weeks, temps around 76. Sub is 1 Part spawn for 2 parts coir. I followed this same tek last year and got 2 nice flushes with about 18g dry for this little container. And I'm fruiting in a shotgun tub with good airflow. Sitting in a multi window room with low butbsteady light. If someone could explain how to attach a photo I would love to. But the mushrooms only stand about 1-1.5 inches and the veils are about to break.

It looks dry to me like your SGFC isn't
maintaining humidity or your coir wasn't
hydrated correctly maybe.

I was leaning in that direction. Is it possible to rehydrate at this point and see if I can save some of them younger pins?

Ehhh I'm not sure on the luck of rehydrating
colonized substrate.

Your long jar colonization time is a red flag

You say spore syringe and wheat berries if you injected
spores directly to grains that is probably
the problem. Spores aren't sterile which is
why they're germinated on agar first and
transferred a few times till they can be
visually assessed for cleanliness.

I might give that a go next time around. Just seemed a little daunting to a noob with limited equipment. But I'm sure its something I can figure out.
