Help Me Identify Trichoderma
    #27806943 - 06/05/22 12:17 PM (2 years, 7 months ago)

Title says it all. First hint was bruising, figured no big deal, maybe a drop or water dripped onto it, so I kept a close watch. Seemingly over night this strange texture developed. Looking at the picture I think I can even see a slight hint of green, on the patch. Am I correct to assume this puppy is about to turn green? I'd greatly appreciate the eyes of experience on this one.

100% trich. In a couple days it will start turning green and releasing spores.

Sense you dont have any meaningful fruits toss that tub.

You could cutt it out, salt it. Try to deal with it. But you'd just be fighting the inevitable.

Thanks guys, now I can ID the stuff, for myself. Tub is sitting in the backyard. The green tinge was noticeable to the eye hours after first noticing the growth. Hope I dodged a bullet. I'm in a new home so we'll see if the rest of my subs follow suit.

Are you use just coco coir and vermiculite?
If so then the issue is the grain you used.

Just straight coir. Nothing about the process has changed in a while. PC @ 15psi for 90 min per RR. Cool naturally and introduce culture in the AM. Is there anything I can do to ensure this does not become a regular occurance. I've fruited easily 600+ quarts of grain spawn and never had an issue.

How did you inoculate the spawn and do you have any pics?  You might want to try 120 minutes @ 15psi especially if you are using oats.
