would this grow now be better off in my bog garden? this gray stuff is bothering me. could make me sick at some point if isn't having a deleterious affect in my house now. i think this gray stuff is cob web mold. toss? if i was a real bottom line type of person i'd say toss and dont F it up next time. hmmm. i want to toss, but what is the group consensus here?

i have a bio active terrarium in my room pretty much next to the grow tub... i'm pretty sure it's acting as a vector. this is the second spoiled grow and i'm noticing that more of my petri dishes are "catching things." no biggy really-just need to move the terrarium... possibly into the trash! ha! jk

Most contamination comes from the jar to begin with.
If you're sure your agar that you transfered was clean then go back to your grain prep. If your grain prep is good then go back to your agar.
Preferably your agar will have nice uniform growth. Always take from the leading edge and dont let early plates become super overgrown before you take a cutt.
I like to go to atleast a T4 (Not including the germ plate) and then expand the best sectors of that plate to additional plates. Let them grow out some and test each plate to their own jars / shoe boxes to see which mycelium I like best to further g2g.
Edit: What do you mean your grains looked like shit? To wet & mushy?
Heres some examples of some plates. Pictures are backwards because I had to use the front camera on my phone.

The last picture is the plate in the first picture turned upside down. You can see the mycelium growing over bacteria at the 6 o'clock area, and spread all around. If you're not watching your plates closely its very easy to overlook and send what you thought was clean mycelium to grain.
Also coincidently the bacteria looks like a mushroom.
