Tips for calming yourself down?

During a trip, but also just in life since a lot of us are feeling quite anxious after Covid etc.
I've never had any health issues or felt anxious before (covid wasn't bad for me personally I was lucky) but I'm starting to now. I need some tips on how to calm myself down. I worry even if I just get a bit of vertigo or a bit dizzy or hot I'll panic and make myself 10x worse. I've never been seriously ill or been in hospital (which is obviously a good thing and I'm lucky) I'd panic like crazy if I had to go into hospital.
I'm feeling a lot of fear of getting ill and death atm and existential dread but it's all in my mind I think. I'm already seeing a therapist but have yet to ask their advice about this. I thought it might help others during a trip also. I successfully talked myself through a slightly uncomfortable shroom trip, but the problem with life is you can't ride it out as it never ends!

Music, movies, video games, meditation, acceptance, laying down in bed.
The best thing I find is to lay down in bed and listen to music. That helps me a lot. Movies can be effective, but it depends on how hard I'm tripping. Video games are a good distraction, they can be way more effective than movies at higher doses, but I still don't find them to be as effective at actually calming down as just laying down and listening to music.
Sometimes changing the room you're in can help, or switching from one activity to another. Pay attention to how you feel during each activity, and go back to the one that felt calm and good before. If you switch to something and then find that you're feeling a lot of bad stuff, switch back to the thing that had you feeling good, or try to switch to something else and see how that goes. When all else fails, just lay down in bed with the lights low.

some good tips there.
I think I'm thinking of bad stuff too much and worrying over every little feeling which I never did before, it's making me panic. I'm in no state to even trip for the foreseeable future but appreciate the advice and hope it helps others.
Feel like I'm almost on the brink of starting to get panic attacks which I've never had in my life.

You may want to examine your exposure to negativity as well. I would avoid for some time watching news, politics, social media, talk shows, etc. Distance yourself from office politics and family drama. Listen to music, watch nature documentaries, take a hobby, dance, sing, do some physical activity, hiking or biking in a place that brings you close to nature would be ideal. Read inspirational books.
I avoid watching or reading the news about a week before tripping. Change your focus to something that takes your mind away from negativity. Intense exercise if you are in good health can be very effective for that.

Great tips thanks. Yeh I have been watching too much news lately. Been following the monkeypox outbreak and that's probably not good but that sort of thing fascinates me the mystery of why it's happening now. Hopefully it doesn't come to much. I stopped reading about Covid at one point I know so will have to do the same if this thing really kicks off.
I'm lucky I have an abundance of nature outside my door, spend far too much time cooped up and not making the most of it though. Going to read more books instead of always putting tv on as well.
Found a great thread on here about panic attacks and what to do-I've never experienced one but feel like I could be heading that way it's quite scary.
