first grow and newb questions

Hey there everyone! thanks for taking the time to look at my post. This is my first grow attempt, I inoculated 12 BRF jars with an MS syringe (tidal wave) from a local mycology store (I'm in Colorado so its a bit easier to source local) and 12 BRF jars inoculated with an MS syringe from a shroomery resource. So far everything seems to be going well, as I am nearing full colonization on the jars I've began feeling like the mycelium is very stringy and rizomorphic still and not the thick/fluffy looking birthed cakes I have seen on my research here. Basically I am wondering if my jars are looking healthy, and and for any sagely advice for a beginner here, I've attached a few pictures of my current progress. I use the search tool religiously each day and figured it was time to make my first post. Super stoked to have found this new hobby with such an amazing community!

I'm not terribly experienced, but those jars look good to me. Are you planning to do the standard PF tek when fully colonized or something else?

Looks like in maybe a week or so you'll be ready to birth those jars. Congratulations!

They look fine, keep doing what your doing and don't forget when they are fully white to give them an extra week for consolidation before moving them to fruiting.

Hi smoke.eater1989,
I am also new to this. I plan to cultivate the Puerto Rican strain from one of the sponsor sites for my first attempt.
Are you doing cakes, or going to bulk substrate?
How did you inoculate your jars? I mean did you do it in open air, or use a SAB?
Thanks!

Great jars. Very rhizomorphic.

I think I’m going to stick with cakes for the my first grow. I inoculated in a SAB. So far no contamination so fingers crossed it stays that way. Good luck on your first go at it!
