Identification please

Hi guys, have just found these growing on my property where I keep my goats.
South east south Australia growing in grass with goat droppings and decomposing hay around.

Quietly hoping they are subs and not gallerinas, they are still quite small.
Tried to get some close up pictures of the underside-the cap has disconnected from the stem and i cant see any annulus left on the stem.

The don’t look like galerina to me, but I don’t see any bluing or spore deposits that would let me say they’re definitely subs. Just watch them mature, and can you tell what they’re growing from for certain? I’m sure some of these T.I.’s can give you an ID from pins alone, but I don’t feel comfortable tho they do have that classic psilocybe look to them.

I think I see some bluing on that small pin in the first picture… can you confirm that?

Yes I think you're right, just went out and took another picture. Its not a definite blue but more a grey/blue

I've found a couple more scattered in the area just poking through as well!

Can’t say for certain, but it’s looking like you got subs to me. It will become more apparent as they grow.

Yeh thought it might be a bit hard to tell at this stage. I might section it off anyway, keep the goats out haha
Am I right that they will multiply as they open and drop more spores?

They’ll get bigger and weigh a lot more as they mature. Once they open up and the gills darken, then they’ll begin really dropping spores. Definitely section it off so your goats don’t eat them. Also, you can check the mycelium and see what it looks like and check any other areas that may be colonized with mycelium because they could start popping up pins too.

Sub pins.
Galerinas have a more orange stipe/stem. Atleast you have the luxury of seeing them mature! The spores wont do anything this season, its the myc already in the ground that will produce more mushrooms for you.

So allowing the spores to drop will make the patch bigger next season? Fingers crossed they are subs!

Yeah, best practices are to clip them with scissors when you harvest and let them mature to the point where they drop spores. If you do pull any up with the mycelium (stem-butts) attached clip it off and plant it in a similar environment to expand patches. Also, at the end of the season you can add some substrate (like wood-chips) so they can continue to have a good source of food to eat. Don’t add too much though or it may not fruit next year since the substrate has to be fully colonized before it will fruit. I was looking around at some other pics of subs and I’m confident they are sub pins. I wish I had wild psilocybes growing on my property. I guess I’ll just have to settle for cultivated psilocybes. 😉

Thanks mate, appreciate all your info/help.
I suppose I would have to keep it fenced off even in the off season to prevent the ground from being being disturbed?
I might post some more pics as they mature for further confirmation if you don't mind?
Cheers

They do look like subs, but there’s a few things that look off. The cap colour is a little light and creamy looking. The stringy veil remnants don’t seem to be present. There’s no real bluing that I can see. The cap texture looks a bit fibrous?
Could be psathyrella?
Definitely upload more photos when they’ve matured I reckon.

Now you got me second guessing myself. The veil remnants don’t seem to be present like you said. It’s possibly those are a psathyrella. Popcorn 🍿 in hand and waiting to see these mature.

There could be bark or wood under the soil. I don’t think they’re Galerina though.

This. I'd vote Psathyrella.
