What should I do if tubs fruited way too early?
    #27804718 - 06/03/22 07:29 PM (2 years, 7 months ago)

The tubs have been colonizing super slowly over the past month. The surface looked really dry, so I opened and sprayed it a couple of times, which I think started fruiting conditions by 1) misting + FAE, 2) trying to drop spores ASAP to survive the dryness, and/or 3) introducing contamination. I don’t see contam, but it could be there. Anyways, the pins are getting fuzzy feet and the surfaces are really dry except for the middle where the water from the lid drips. Should I open the lids and spray? Let them keep colonizing? Toss them all out and start over?

were you suffocating them for “colonizing” purposes ?

Why not just start fruiting it?

Tubs that sit long enough will start to put out a couple fruits on their own because they're ready to.

I thought it had to be mostly colonized before exposing it to air, but if not, great!

Take a picture of it so we can see the surface.

Not needed, many people, myself included spawn straight to fruiting conditions. If you haven't already, let that puppy breathe and get going.

Pasty's EZ dial tubs are golden and spawn straight to the same conditions you will fruit with, no taping, suffocating during colonization or anything. My old standard MP taped tubs same thing, spawned straight to fruiting conditions.
