Hell yeah lol (they do get hard to manage )
I’ve got two indica plants that were started by a friend inside and they are already huge for June. And they already smell. I know the neighbors are gonna complain with these things start to flower. Last time we had a stinky indica the neighbors wrote a nice email that said they didn’t give a fuck about the marijuana plants, but they could no longer leave their windows open at night due to the smell.
The seeds from that plant’s clone have been one of the the sets of seeds I’ve used for the past few years and they are much more balanced and tolerable.
That's awesome, I hope yours turns out 💣 we will have to compare results come harvest

I decided to challenge some of the fears I have had in the past about light pollution. After some conversation here I figured I’d challenge the theory about light pollution a little for shits and giggles. Below is a picture of the amount of light the flower room is getting, intere
I’ll probably get a lot of push back here, but I have several reasons to believe that cannabis plants are no where near as sensitive to light in the dark phase of the day as people think. First reason is for three years now my plants have been on a patio with a light that shines directly on them for brief periods most nights. They are also less than ten feet away from a street lamp that shines on their tops if they get too tall. They grow in the middle of a densely populated part of a large city and even on the darkest nights theres enough ambient light to see things easily. They’ve all flowered normally and I’ve never had a plant herm on me.
Secondly, these plants all start flowering in august when there is still ~13 hours of sunlight a day plus another hour of twilight. It seems to me that the plants are switching into dark mode even while the sun is still up, just in the shadow of a three story building.
If anything, the opposite problem is true. In the first half of spring, when the length of the day is already more than 12 hours, plants that were started too early and put outside will start to flower.
It’s entirely possible that plants that grow up in areas with a lot of ambient light are not as sensitive to light during their night phase.
I don't think it messes wit them in the causing intersex traits way, but after growing in both the country and the city I can say light pollution DEFINITELY delays flowering a little bit. Sometimes that extra couple of weeks can mean the difference between pulling it off or not if your environment has a cool and wet autumn.
There's also the fact that plants outdoors are used to a big ol bright nightlight in the sky, so they evolved to deal with light at night.

Thanks. It's northern lights strain from expert seeds. I ordered it from a 420 deal, no idea if thats a reputable breeder or anything.

I'm using fox farms ocean forest. When it eventually needs more nutrients I want to do slow release dry amendments. I built sort of a giant space bucket out of a 32 gallon trash can to grow in.

Sounds good! I promise to be more attentive and kind to your beans, figured I’d give mine a good stress test to make sure they are ok to for use, Attached a few photos of the phenos I ran into from the PPxOB. I have bought worse crosses/strains before so I’ll consider it a success. I am really excited to have you show me what those crosses really can do, especially that S1 Obama. I hope you hit some winners! They seem to definitely be all over the place but maybe decent for pheno hunting, One of them has great purple smell just not the nicest of the girls. Cross has some potential.
The patch @ 36 days

The light polluted (~30% had decent bolt at flower) this girl is built like her mom doesn’t seem overly concerned about the light pollution. If I had topped her she would have beached out pretty nicely.

Obama leaning

Purple punch leaning

Fast flower’er bit the bud got a bit wind/leaf fucked

Mixed traits

Spiked body/texture somewhat unique to the rest

Damn you’ve got all kinds of good stuff going.
Couple shots of the tops of the slightly more Sativa Lao berry, the fans growing at that 45 degree angle is new for me. HM at 9 weeks, and the top off my solo cup lcxcn. I’m gonna turn it into fresh froze bubble but that top was too pretty.

They can take it. Should be well trained around here anyways. Just watch the Sweet God x Permafrost close. Someone stressed some out under extreme heat once and they suffered some hermaphroditism. The Sweet God mother used for that was kind of prone too. The whole God line is really. Doesn't give me problems though. So it must have been really heavy stress. Yeah, the first four are looking great after recovering from a blitz up pot. Things were a bit wet initially but are correcting now. The Dosido x Obama Kush is launching lol. Easily 2/3's bigger than the others. Probably wasn't as wet but it's passing some m/f stuff sprouted and up potted earlier. I really like the look of things though. Gonna be some killer stuff in the mix.

Man that Green Pheno is taking a long time. Must be strong with the Chem side of things. I don't work with the green often so I'll have to note the longer flowering time and keep an eye on that. Damn that LCxCN looks delicious! Getting kind of pumped for mine.
So my little twin wasn't green after all. Turned out to be the Pink Pheno or really close to it anyways. The pink showed more after drying. It's got little purple speckles mixed in and it's really hard to get a good pic but I'll keep trying. The Pink is extremely rare. I think out of 200+ ladies there's only been four or five not including this one. It has a horrible jaroma but it breaks up and smokes great. I think the one coming down this weekend might be a pink as well. It's showing some clearly mixed with the green. I'll know more soon. If anyone is interested I started a journal with the lineage. It's a work in progress and I'm right in the middle of the phenotype descriptions.

Nice! That second to last picture is beautiful bro.
I just harvested a lc x cn a few days ago. It’s got really dense frosty purple nuggets. It’s got a nice citrusy funk to it. It was so nice to grow a hybrid plant after being on my sativa streak. The colas were really chunky! Here’s a couple pictures…

So I need to up pot before I flip to flower. How much recovery time should I give it before I 1. Prune it 2. Actually flip it to 12/12. Should I take a week to slowly cut from 18/6 to 12/12. Got gg#4 and Bruce banner #3 in ocean forest soil and high mountain gold compost(from one of the vendors) using fox farm big 3 grow big big green and will be using big bloom when ready. You don't absolutely need to up pot before flip, but you'll be happy you did. Especially with the GG4. I give at least a week to recover and spread more roots. Two is even better. I'd just go ahead and hard flip right to 12/12. It's doubtful they'll give you troubles but a rare few can. Those are good strains and shouldn't be bothered a hard flip.
Now.. pruning . An interesting topic for sure. Some say yes, some say no. I don't do a lot initially unless I'm in a situation where root to shoot ratio comes into play. Usually applies to mothering plants for clones. I haven't seen root to shoot ratio discussed here much but it's something to consider for those using smaller pots too.

So I cut the nitrogen way down pretty early, do you guys think these bottom leaves are anything to worry about? They’re pretty far down under the canopy and I’m not seeing any issues anywhere else.

I started putting the tiniest bit of N into every other feed just to see.

Nah, I wouldn't panic. 'The fade' is a result of the root to shoot ratio being a little off though. I had you in mind with that last post btw. You're still the solo cup king but nice timing.

Lol alright thanks.
I’ve never even heard of that before but it makes sense. I guess I just figured the plant wouldn’t grow bigger than it could handle. Sounds like I should’ve lollipopped a little.
Utopia haze is coming in pretty nice so far a few weeks in too. Smells very fruity. Didn’t stretch much, I flipped it a little small since it’s a haze.

Seriously, if we ever have a solo cup competition here my bets are on you lol.
Cannabis is a bit forgiving with root to shoot because of how we grow them. They can be pushed pretty hard. I did all the weighing and what not several years ago. My basic equation ended up being an ounce per gallon of media keeping things pretty. You can pull more, up to double, but it'll often fade or lose leaves. The fade doesn't bother me so much. I'm not usually pushing for optimal yield. I do really like the clean smoke provided by a plant that has begun consuming itself though. For me a little fade is preferred.
