Possible contamination

Is the white fuzz on these cakes cobweb, or another contaminant? Peroxide seems to work on them, yet I'd like to ID it and not bother the cakes if possible. I'm a relative newbie, have had similar fuzz on a grow about a year ago. Both then and now I've spent hours searching this Shroomery database and posts to try to positively ID this type of stuff and have come up short.
Any info/help is much appreciated.
Thanks.

don’t spray peroxide!! cobweb is pretty rare in tubs & cakes & is way more whispy. it’ll also overtake whatever it’s growing in within like 24 hours. peroxide doesn’t help things even if there are contams
did your last cakes contam? these don’t look concerning to me. just looks like myc. you’ll know in a day or two if it’s contams bc it will most likely turn green if it is.

Last cakes had more growth of this white fuzz, no obvious colored contamination. I've been dabbing these areas with a peroxide-soaked Q tip, not spraying. Should I let them go?

yes, it’s probably just mycelium trying to colonize the outside of the cake. most likely all you’re doing is stressing out a healthy cake. peroxide doesn’t really stop or prevent contamination, if you’re seeing mold it’s already permeated the entire substrate & you’re not gonna stop anything by spraying peroxide. you can salt small spots to stop sporulation if you have a flush actively coming in, but other than that it’s useless to try to fight it. again though, those don’t even look unhealthy. just keep ‘em moist & let them do their thing

Thanks for the help. The fuzz has only slightly increased over the last 24 hours.

Update - The white fuzz has only slightly increased - it hasn't turned gray or taken over the FC. Fruiting bodies are developing The fuzz appears to be tomentose mycelium. I've also seen this described as aerial mycelium, although that seems to be more of a scientific term. Thanks to the responders!
