Misting your pins

I have read multiple statements from people who say to mist your mushies once they pop up. I was always cautious as I’ve also heard it causes aborts and to never directly mist your mushrooms. I’m on my third flush and decided what the hell, so I started misting directly, from afar with a fine mister and immediately fanning afterwards. My results were that they definitely benefit from misting as long as you fan immediately afterwards. I do it three times a day and fan vigorously afterwards and these babies have grown a little bigger each time I check on them. I know there’s misconceptions out there and I wanted to tell people that yes you won’t hurt your mushies by directly misting them. I should mention I wait until they are about a 1/4 inch grown

Is what you’re doing actually helping or are you mushrooms just growing like they would normally without you misting/fanning them? Misting is to keep surface conditions and evaporation consistent which triggers pinning AFAIK.

I definitely say helping. Compared to not misting the first two flushes, I say misting has helped them grow faster. I don’t drench them, just finely mist them from afar and vigorously fan. I check on them three times a day and they grow each time. I’m sure someone else can also directly point out if it’s helped them or not as I’m sure I’m not the first one to do this.
