Everything was going so good and then they started drooping * 1
    #27799543 - 05/30/22 08:50 PM (2 years, 7 months ago)

Long story short....I suffer from chronic depression and Fibro my whole life and have been on every medication you could imagine having terrible side effects.... I started micro dosing PS about 2 years after reading some scientific journals ago having excellent results. About 9 months ago I was unable to obtain a good amount of shrooms but ran out about 6 months so I decided to try and grow my own.

This is my first run and everything was going so good until I left the house for one day. I come home and some of the early ones were drooping, some of the veils opened and now there is an explosion of white fluffy stuff on the base. I'm completely devastated cause this batch was supposed to keep me maintained.

Is this salvageable or should I just toss it. I picked a few with open veils and I'm Going to eat them regardless. I really don't give a fuck if they make sick because I'm ready to jump off a bridge.

There's plenty there for a nice trip all said and done! Nice job on that pinset! Looks like the genetics is the main factor here of why they are so tiny, if it was from spores it makes sense. Sometimes it's the luck of the draw!

First off, that’s a ridiculous pinset dude. Looks like a lot are aborting, but that coverage is fantastic, so you’re clearly doing something right.

I’d wager that substrate is running out of moisture, causing the aborts. That’s a lot to take on. The fuzzy feet are fine, high humidity levels and lack of FAE will cause it, but again, with that sort of even pinset it seems like you have it dialed in pretty well. Except for the substrate possibly drying out early. Or genetics.

Let that thing ride, maybe rehydrate a bit. But keep an eye on those heavy white blotches in the corners of the tub though. They look suspect.

I actually think these will be super small for OP. Notice the amount of fruits and the cap to stem size ratio on the bigger ones, plus they appear to be breaking already.

I've seen this a bunch of different times. Bad multispore genetics or to much moisture. They're annoying to harvest when there's a million little fruits.

Op, if this is the case ditch these genetics after harvest and start over from spores.

Oh they will be munchkins at best, for sure. One helluva a start though, Toasted!

Let it roll, harvest what you can/want, rehydrate and maybe try to push it through a second flush if ya like. Keep an eye out for ugly growth, etc… you’ll be fine.

Have you tried messing around with agar work at all?

FYI, even isolated cultures can do this.
Sometimes it's just the luck of the draw.

I've grown this pe7 isolate multiple times now and the tubs always abort at pin stage regardless what I do.

Joking or not it's insulting to people who dedicate a great deal of time helping others, writing teks etc when you mock people who are "Shroomery perfectionists" as you say. And telling people a little bit of mold in a tub is ok is not okay neither. Theres a right way and a wrong way to do things in this hobby. If you're gonna add to the mis information, theres plenty of that to go around on Reddit! Ffs.

There is information on this website that goes back 20 years as you may understand. Some tek has been proving wrong.

I'm not disrespecting saying Shrommery Perfectionist.

I'm trying to put in understanding " Do Not Be Discouraged By Them."

Do not feel that if you miss calculated or was not exact to the TEK; that it is now trash.

Many who come here are any forum for information feels as when they post there problems the best thing to do is trash it.

In fear or embarrassment to post there mistakes for people that have been doing this for decades. F.E. His flush is beautiful yet growing differently and he is already thinking he messed up completely and is expecting the worst.

I am in no way disrespecting the years of information here an the many new teks people conjure on this website.

You took what I said out of context an im happy to explain further. Nothing I said is miss information... relax... not derail his thread.

We're all giving good info....

All in all this looks promising and should have a lot of shrooms in a week.

If the corners do turn out to mold, next time do 4 shoeboxes instead of 1 monotub, that way you're less likely to contam all.

If that is mold, maybe make tea with the shrooms instead of eating them. Dry, then boil for ten min in water, then steep for 10 min. Will lose a little potency but kills mold / bacteria so you don't have that in you.

I'm not sure it is mold though. Could just be heavy mycelium.

Welcome.

First off thanks for all the help everyone and encouraging words.

I've been pondering what happened when I left for that day.

One factor that I think lead to having problems is that for the entirety of the grow from spore to tub the temps remained the same around that 70* indoor temp(75* inside tub temp). On the day I left the outside temps hit a whopping 85 degrees for the first time this year. I'm assuming the temp rise outside caused the temps inside to rise dramatically...and without me being there I wasn't able to introduce fresh air flow.

To give more context on what I did on my first grow.

This first grow started from Spore.
I Inoculated a all in one bag with about 2.5lbs of rye berry grain and 2.5lbs of Substrate.
After the bag was mixed and the MY-C completely consumed the grow bag it was opened and layered into the monotub.
about 1/2 inch layer of substrate.
2-3 inch layer of MY-C
and then good layer of substrate over that.

I closed all the monotub holes off for about 7-10 days until the top of the substrate was white and full of MY-C. The corners where you see the thick white was apparent from the beginning. After that I opened them up and put filters over the holes....fanned the tub about 4-5 times per day and after say 7 days I could see pins.

What you see in the first picture on the OP is about 14-20 days after pinning started.

Here's a pic of the first few I pulled yesterday and today.

Its just the genetics man, not the conditions. You did everything great. Pour a good amount of cold water around the sides and on the surface of your tub for 4 to 24 hours. (I do 24) carefully empty it all out (Lightly place your hand down on the substrate from the opposite end youre pouring the water out from so it doesnt crack) and then fruit er again. You'll have to be ontop of the conditions more for the 2nd flush so pay close attention that it doesn't dry out. If you get pooling water on the surface from misting just soak it up with a paper towel. Run it untill it doesn't produce much or contams out. I go three flushes for most and 4 or 5 with some albinos strains.

Dont let it discourage you. Tiny fruits happens sometimes with multispore unfortunately. Don't g2g or expand that mycelium it will just end up the same way. But you can start over from the same print or m.s.s you used and try again for a better set of genetics.

Congrats on a good grow nonetheless. Your tub looked good. Genetics are out of our control. If they weren't I wouldn't be balding :rofl2:

Ps OP: I know what it's like to have a debilitating condition and need medication to live a somewhat normal life. If you ever need spores, eventually you can access the marketplace and the fine folks here will help you out. I'm currently taking prints right now for a giveaway that Im sending out this week. If you'd like a texas yellow cap print to work with just shoot me a p.m.

Ever have any questions or need advice feel free to reach out.

Best of luck in your adventures, bud
