Quandary about memory 1

Hi All,
I'm a 23 y/o male and I've had a few thoughts about my memory.
I've come to realise over the last couple of years that my memory isn't that great. I like to think of myself as a respectfully well-thought person, but I feel like my 'intelligence' is absolutely hindered by the fact I suck at remembering things. Of course, some would say there are many different types of intelligence, but I can't help but feel slightly slow compared to some of the people I surround myself with. And I can't help but feel a lot of it simply comes down to how much detail and information and stuff that gets held together in the ol' hippocampus.
But I also don't know how much I am causing a snowball effect by constantly giving this thought attention in my mind and stressing about it, rather than simply living the moment I am in. There's no shame in not being as smart as others, but society can make me feel stupid because I don't remember simple things.
Examples? I forget common famous people and actors names all the time. FOR THE LIFE OF ME, I cannot remember song lyrics?! And I forget popular song names and artists, which makes me stick out like a sore thumb in most social scenarios. I forget a lot films I've watched and books / authors that I've read and found, even if it is a book I have greatly enjoyed. (Not being able to remember lyrics is downright painful! I find I can't truly appreciate music properly as I can't belt out the lyrics and truly resonate with the song.)
I've suffered with some mild depression. Stress and anxiety can get the better of me sometimes, but I have started to cope with it a lot better. Cardiovascular exercise and meditation is a great area that improves my troubles. Which perhaps points to the trigger being stress related.
But I do feel stuck in a rut sometimes. Maybe my memory is just below the average? Or not quite at the level of people that I surround myself with. And that's okay, perhaps I just need to accept the way I am. It can just be difficult, particularly when living in a society where intelligence is deemed as important. Almost feels like at points that I am self aware enough to see that I don't have a brilliant memory and subsequently, I don't feel that I can always be intelligent enough to have 'success'. Whatever that is meant to look like.
As I write this I'm realising I maybe just need to work harder at being present and being at ease with who I am as a person. Easier said than done, I guess. Sorry for the ramble!
Anyone have any familiar experiences or feelings on the matter?
TLDR: Memory sucks badly. Do I need to work harder to be at peace with how my memory is? Or is there something wrong with me and something I can improve?

You’re intelligent enough to survive for 23 years and gain a commanding grasp of the English language. You come across as a good communicator. Your brain seems to be full of good shit. You’re ok.
Your memory only seems to be an issue by comparison, not necessarily due to any inherent flaw. Focus on your strengths and do what you can to bolster your memory.

Dont worry about your memory, your brain remembers what's important to it. Actors names and song lyrics are unimportant and your brain probably just knows that. I wish I could forget crap like that and remember what's only important and relevant to my life and spiritual growth. So consider that your selective memory may be not such a bad thing after all? Just a thought. I can't even remember people's names that I meet until like the 4th time I meet them, but I remember the people and what's important about them, so I don't see it as a problem.

I have poor memory issues as well. My short term memory (and long term in some cases for that matter) is not good. Not good at all.
I feel your pain, OP.

Only remember What you need when you need to And that is okay
If you're really worried about it teach yourself how to play piano with both hands, that'll get your brain in step.

It's funny, I forget everything that isn't of essential importance in my life. Everything can skip my mind on the wrong day but I think this might be a case of "societal expectations" making you feel you should remember things that in all reality, were mediocre and not remarkable to you. Who remembers boring shit?
People who have complex shit memorized truly have a passion for whatever they are reciting from memory
