Overlay? Wet bubble?

Hi there! This is my second time growing cubes and I'm having what seems to be some serious overlay or wet bubble in this tub. I used tortoise manure substrate which may have been a little too overhydrated as well as an untested freebie syringe. I started to noticed intense mycelium growth that covered most of the tub within 5 days of colonization. At 7 days I tried to induce fruiting (fanning 2-3 times per day) There was water puddling in a few spots so I avoided any misting and made sure to clear up those areas with a paper towel. Ive been fanning for 5 days now and the white growth just seems to be getting slightly bigger with a few small pockets of yellow discoloration in a couple areas (likely metabolites?) Not really sure what my next step should be. Forktek and increase FAE? Bury it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The fanning you're doing is matting the surface. Nobody here is fanning, stop it.

You won´t see overlay without a casing. Within 5 days i don´t want to have a tub nearly full colonized. That´s clearly a sign the syringe wasn´t clean. You also don´t force into fruiting by fanning. I guess your myc slowly dies away as you have yellow patches, most likely a matted surface from too much fanning. The myc bulbs up, signs of bacteria to me. Also stretching out to find a better place. I´d give that good passive air exchange and light, but wouldn´t have much hopes on it.

I wasn't aware of the fanning issue. Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah the quick growth was throwing me off. Thats on me for not testing a random syringe! The tub has been on a 12hr light cycle for the last 5 days but the dungeons a bit stuffy so passive air exchange has likely been an issue on top of everything else. Thank you for the informative reply!
