Possible issue with first grow?

I inoculated 12 BRF half pint jars (regular mouth, couldn't find wide) from spore syringes 8 days ago - 6 of one strain and 6 of another. I sterilized them in a 23 qt Presto PC - my first time using it - and I noticed after I got them all inoculated that one jar was heavier than the rest and appeared as though the inside had been soaked during PCing. I figured I might have a problem with that jar but I just put it on a shelf with the rest. Now, 8 days later, the heavier jar has noticeable mycelium in it, one of the other jars from the other strain appears to have a small spec starting, and the other 10 jars don't seem to have any signs of colonization whatsoever.

^This is the jar with noticeable mycelium but as you can see the dry verm layer appears wet and I wonder if the wet/grey ring under it is a contam.

^This is the one other jar that appears to have mycelium forming and it is a different strain from the one above.

^This, however, is basically what the rest of the jars look like - as they did when I first inoculated. It appears the contents of the jars shrunk down some during PCing - if I mistakenly injected into the dry verm layer would that ruin it? I can see some places where its a little clumped up from where I injected and it seems like maybe it's in the dry verm layer.

It's hard to make out in the pic and in person. Hopefully I just need to be more patient with the ones with no signs but any feedback is appreciated. Do you guys think the jar in the first pics is contaminated?

Definitely looks like some water got in during PC. But it's not a lot and that does look like mycelium growing. Did you cover your jar tops with tinfoil to prevent water dripping into the holes?
Brf jars can take a couple weeks for spores to grow sometimes. I think you're doing ok so far. Just keep being patient and watch the fun! Observe and learn
What are your plans for a fruiting chamber?

Yeah I covered them with foil. If I remember correctly the lid on the jar the water got into was somewhat loose when I took the foil off so perhaps I didn't tighten that one enough before I put it in the PC.
And you're right it probably just needs more time. I am going to do 2-3 shoeboxes from bod's easy af tek with coir substrate.

Maybe the water level in the pressure cooker was a little high and it bubbled under the lose lid. It doesn't look to be contaminated atm. BRF cakes with spores are a sorta dice roll anyhow. Just gotta wait for them to do their thing.
Might be good to look into agar, cloning, and printing. That way when you get fruits eventually you'll be able to keep things going.

How deep is the dry vermiculite layer? Mine only go to the bottom of the jar threads. 8 days with no growth is fine. The heavier jar has something growing in it. Need to wait and see what it actually is.

True. I am getting started with agar before the next run. Thanks for the input!

The dry verm was a lids worth filling each jar level on top. Looks like after PCing it’s now down to the bottom of the lid. I stuck the needle all the way down in though so it should’ve gone down far enough I would think. Probably just needs more time and maybe been a little too cool in the room come to think of it.
