I am preparing for my first grow and thinking of using these, probably with a no pour tek in pc
Its oven safe and shallow enough amongst all my choices.

PP5 should be heat-resilient. It does look a little flimsy though. I say run one plate as soon as you can in your PC, maybe don't even bother adding agar, just make sure it doesn't melt.
Also, test the seal on that - fill it with water and tip it over and see if it spills out. If it doesn't spill, it has potential - you'd want to put at least one hole in it with a filter, so that it doesn't break in the PC and so that you have gas exchange.
Would it survive 30m in the PC? Just one way to find out...

i wouldn’t recommend putting them in the oven.
I like aliens holy grail plates, i think it would be easier than putting a hole in those, the HG don’t need any modifications

Unfortunately, I can only manage pp5 boxes cause I don't really live in a country with too many options.

Try to find containers that are a bit thicker, those will become fragile fast.
If that is really all you can find then they will hold up to a pc cycle but I doubt they'll be able to do many more pc cycles.

Ya it does seem a tadbit flimsy. I have another option but I am not too sure how it will work out for me. I will add the pic here.

I have this 80ml option

And this 300ml option

I will actually be throwing them away after one time use. These are one time plastics. I wish I could find something more sustainable. The only ones I found that are reusable have dimensions of L- 2.5 x W- 2.5 x H- 1.25 inch
And they are not shallow

Depth is not necessarily a huge problem. I've done agar in half-quart jars - if the agar solidifies right then the myc can colonize the top and be easily observable just as in an agar that isn't as 'deep'.
I really see the depth of the container as a non-issue if you can fit it in your PC. The size is really about convenience. Someone could do agar in quart or even gallon jars if they wanted. (I would want to work more with gallon jars, if I ever found some way to sterilize them.)
Agar in larger jars has a certain convenience in that you might be able to take slightly larger wedges.

I’ve seen videos where they’re using the 12oz flask style liquor bottles on their sides. Lots of surface area, stackable, small opening to minimize contamination, reusable. They do that at overseas commercial mushroom farms.

Oh yeah, OP can you get a glass jar? Like what do they have salsa in at your grocery stores? I think any salsa jar is suitable for grains or agar, they all have adjustable lids you can screw a little so they don't break in the PC.
Glass jars are expensive new, but start saving them from the grocer and then you get a lot of extra for free.

one thing I found using PP5 pots is hte way they clasp shut. if it's a tricky seal, then whenever you open it up (for transfers etc) it's a right ball ache to do it in a SAB and makes your hands move far too much
search for pp5 sauce pots in your country and try your luck also, gas exchange holes work best op the top at the side, rather than in the lid, just for being able to view how the mycs coming on good luck!

I am terrified of using glass jars in pc. But I have glass jars from nescafe instant coffee but they have plastic lids

Or I can get jars like this with metal lids on it

The only mason jars available comes with a handle like this

I dont know if any of these options will hold in pc. I have been looking for a glass container for both my agar and grain to sterilize it.

I get a ton of cult stuff at the thrift shops…quart jars, pint jars, half pint jars, shoeboxes, larger tubs…ive gotten a pc and a dehydrator there too…
I did use amazon to get my HG plates tho…does your country have Glad products? they make things called mini rounds that work well for agar
good luck!

You can do glass jars just fine in the PC, metal lids are preferred. But the important thing is not to put a completely sealed jar in there.
So the easiest thing to do is just twist the lid a little bit, a quarter turn - if it is one of the those twist lids, the opening allows steam to escape and there's no breakage.
Traditional jar lids make this tough because they seal all the way. Some people flip the middle section of those lids upside down so there is no perfect seal, then also leave it a little loose just like the other lids.
I think just twisting the lid a tiny bit is all you need to get no breakage. Also make sure that your jars are not bathing in the water, the water will be touching the jars but make sure the jars can stand up on their own.
BUT, besides twisting the lid a bit, most cultivators design special lids by drilling holes into them and adding tyvek or other filters. Doing this would also prevent any problems in the PC.

Both work - the first lid would be best if you added a new hole and attached a filter, while on the second lid, take out that straw crap and just put the filter over the hole, they already did your work for you it seems. Put them in the PC with the jar lids turned a quarter - a foil filter helps too to avoid contamination. Do this and I don't think you'll get breakage.

To give credit where it is due, glad mini rounds for agar was first advocated in this tek by pastywhyte.

I've used the 300 ml deli dishes. They hold up for 2-3 uses. Getting the lid off after the PC is troublesome. I've cracked a few lids in the process. I can only sterize 8 at a time in my 9.5 qt PC. If I am doing transfers I often place 2, on opposite sides of the dish. If I think the transfer is going to grain I will drop just 1. There's a lot of surface area on those plates.
That being said, I am moving to smaller dishes with attached lids to get some newly received spores going. 200 plates for USD 25 makes them disposable imo. They are 60 mm diameter across the bottom.
If I am unable to keep up with plate transfers then larger dishes give me more time before they get overgrown.
