Brentwood 5 tray dehydrator on sale, any good?

Hey everyone,
I have been getting by with my own homemade dehydrator - which I'm incredibly proud of, and it's a beast. But, more and more, I realize it's a fire hazard from hell. Fire + Mush Cult =
I see this is on sale for only $25 this week only, and I'm sure it works just fine... I just really have a problem not knowing the temperature it's set to. It's not even in the manual as degrees, just as a time table.
Does anyone have any experience with this one here? No matter what, it's safer and more quiet than what I'm doing now - but I'd rather see if anyone has used this model before and know ahead of time if it's worth trying. It could be set to as hot as possible, which would be awesome for the price! Is this anyone's dehydrator? And does it meet/exceed the normal 24 hour benchmark for drying mushrooms? Thank you!

Maybe it’s lower maybe it’s higher 🤷♂️. It’ll work but without knowing the temperature you’d always want to err for 24 HRS. For 20$ more you could get something you know how hot it is.

Very true!
I read some reviews on other sites about the trays getting too hot and melting. I like that! Lol. Same model here ranges from $50 - $80 on other stores sites, so it can't be a waste of a sale. Called and have one reserved for pickup - Next harvest is in approx. 3 days or so. I will update!
The comparable Presto option is preset at 165 degrees. So IDK, I have a good feeling about this one... and if not, 30 day return policy, and Ill get this other one I saw that was about $44k

That dehydrator is only 280w - typically Presto/Nesco dehydrators are 600-800w. If those trays are melting, it's a poorly designed/built device.

Only 44k? Is this an industrial sized medical grade dehydrator or something?

ditch the one that will burn down your house.
I don't know the one you're asking about, but it looks almost too inexpensive.
This one is 50, but it was my first one and it's great. https://www.amazon.com/NutriChef-Food-Dehydrator-Machine-Professional/dp/B01DO0ZR7I
plus it has a mushroom on the label!
I got it for half that at Salvation Army.
I recommend drying shrooms a long time. Like 24 hours. Doesn't hurt them in this, this goes to 180 f, the highest I'd go.
Dryer is better. Thread about long term storage here. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27660402
If you dry the fuck out of them they can last years, according to some people on that thread.
If you don't dry them enough, they may mold and or degrade. You're more likely to lose shrooms not drying enough than by over drying.
Now I have one that cost a lot more, goes to 165, but dries as fast or faster, has smart convection fans or something.
