Since when did whole oats prices get jacked and almost doubled for anyone else?
I remember not long ago 50# of oats was $15 at tractor supply, they're now $25.
Dang inflation

All grains. You should see rye. I can't buy a 50lb bag for anything less than $50! I got 50lb of animal feed wheat for about $20 and that was the best I could do.
You might see if the prices for millet are better, but probably not.
Only small farms will give you a fair price.

Also - just throwing it out there, RR found it economical to grow his own rye. You might consider growing a fast-maturing millet like E. Esculenta in your backyard or any grow space. Grain prices are just gonna get worse. It might be worth growing enough to use on your own, especially if food security issues get even worse and there are even bigger supply issues.
Or, you might be able to grow the oats you already have, and then of course you will never need to buy another bag. Oats should grow pretty well in most parts of America, and a small scale grow is by no means hard.

Millet / white proso is holding pretty steady at $30 for 50lbs in my area, but oats have indeed almost doubled.

So much for oats being that go to cheap grain. Other grains have stayed steady as well for me around $30-35 for 50lbs. Oats were substantially cheaper

Lmao! After so much time spent reading about grains, different opinions, videos, etc... and reading almost every thread on Shroomery saying - 50lb bag, $15, simple right?
Went into TS a few weeks ago and saw it was $25. Lol! I could have buckled, but I kind of wanted straight millet anyways, so I took it as a sign. I just wanted to be able to have a solution I can walk in a store and buy what I need without ordering. Needless to say, I am so far in love with everything about my bag of Pennington Classic! Lol Fingers crossed

70% increase in oat prices is actually insane. To me all grains are pretty much equal, the only benefit of oats was being substantially cheaper than the rest. Now there's not really any point to use them unless it's your preferred grain, I will rather use rye/sorghum for basically the same price

I bought a bunch of wheat a couple years ago. I hope it holds me over until everything calms down. Fucking everything is getting expensive.

Grains for a while were one of the only things that was surviving inflation. They are still 'cheaper' comparatively than any other food by a huge margin. But they get less economical by the day.
