If this is too common of a post and I posted it in the wrong spot then I apologize. Move or delete it and what not...
I did spore syringe to jars using the oven method. I thoroughly cleaned the room and bins where I would be growing and innoculating with lysol, bleach, and alcohol. I showered and brushed my teeth beforehand.
However, for the first few jars I put way way too much solution in to the jar. Those jars, I believe, are the ones that are not growing.
However of 12, 10 seem to be growing. The growth is almost all rhizomorphic and almost all of them have grown from only one point of inoculation except 2 of the jars. I have kept aluminum foil on them. Everytime I check on them which is admittedly too much I brush my teeth, wash my hands and arms, and poison the air with alcohol.
They started growing late into the first week and now are on their third week. Some of them are growing pretty slowly. I blame the overdose of spore solution.
And until yesterday I had them sequestered in a plastic tub with a black blanket over them. But decided to take the blanket off and take 2 out of the tub and on to the shelf to see if that would be a better way to grow.
Temperatures between 74 to 78 F.
Strains golden teacher and amazonia.

I assume you are doing brown rice flour cakes with a dry verm layer( PF tek) You say there is foil on top. Is there holes in it so they can breath? They need air exchange to grow properly. Your dry vermiculite layer will act as a filter. Now that they are inoculated, your sterile work is done, so all the cleaning, washing and sanitizing is unneeded. They are safe in their jars.
I’d recommend building a still air box for next time. It is cheap, easy, and much more effective than an oven tek.

Jars look ok so far from the pics. Being BRF I can almost assure you that they will grow some fruits. If they are a bit too bacterial they may stall before full colonization, but BRF is pretty good with letting the mycelium take over.
Ive even had cakes that stalled at 75% from bacteria, and simply removing the uncolonized portion under running water before dunking was enough to still have them fruit. That's the nice thing with BRF, it's extremely forgiving unlike grains.

There are no holes in the aluminum foil. I was so obsessed with contamination and read so many conflicting things on the boards about covering them or not. I just order some micropore tape. Should I take the aluminum off and put the tape over the holes instead? As for the ones that are not growing I flipped them over as I read so many people on here advising that.

You don’t need tape. The dry verm is enough, but they have to breath. Just don’t disturb the verm layer when your handling them. It traps contamination. Make sure anything your reading on here is current. There is a lot of outdated informations. Search for the updated PF tek.
