Cubensis Ethanol Extraction for tincture

I’ve looked at various posts on shroomery and on other sites recommending and discouraging ethanol extraction to create a tincture. Can anyone point me to an extraction method that works please.
I have a litre of ethanol which works for weed, I have read on several post the ethanol doesn’t work for cubensis, even though I have read otherwise.

We make tea all the time and works great so I’d say hot water seems to be a fast extractor. Could reduce pretty far and let the rest of the water evaporate off and then scrape what’s left into ethanol for a tincture but that’s just me spit balling.. I’ve never tried it. I’ve always just drank the tea or freeze in ice cube trays for later use

I would do what he said and reduce pretty far but don't evap the water off, that would expose the goods to oxidation pretty quickly. Just get it to a real small amount of water and mix that half and half with 95% ethanol (everclear) for preservation/stability.
But that's just what I WOULD do, I've never tried it.
Ethanol may work for extraction but the problem is you're gonna have to use a lot to cover up all the mushroom powder and you'll end up with a fairly weak tincture. So being able to boil down a water extraction to a very small amount could make it a lot stronger.

Have some medicinal mushrooms and want to get the most out of them? Try this double extraction method.

One of these days I'd really like to get a soxhlet extractor, but boiling water does just fine for me at the moment so that won't be for quite some time (if ever). Maybe if I ever get into non-active medicinals

I played around with water extractions and was left disappointed. The actives start to oxidize really fast as soon as they hit water. These pics were taken within 5 seconds of eachother.

As the liquid reduces further it begins to burn which likely destroys the active compounds. To prevent it from burning you would have to stand there and whisk it constantly.

What you're left with is a brown mucous like substance suspended in black liquid.

I tried an eye dropper full of this stuff around 5 hours after making it and there was no noticeable affect. Another eye dropper full an hour after that and still nothing. 2oz of dry material went into that so you'd think that something should have been happening...
While this was a fun project, I won't be attempting it again. If anyone else wants to try, I'd recommend using less water and doing everything you can to speed up the process. The longer that it takes, the weaker the end result is going to be. There will also be a large amount of potency loss so you're gonna have to use more materials than you think you will need and that will also depend on how long it takes to reduce the tincture. You'll also have no way of measuring the dose and the amount that works for you today might not work tomorrow if it degrades.
I'll stick with tea. It takes 10 minutes, the dose is controllable and dried mushrooms are stable enough that potency loss is minimal if stored properly.
