Scaly Fat Stems on B+???
    #27785564 - 05/20/22 11:17 AM (2 years, 7 months ago)

*4 tubs
*same genetics
*same substrate
*2 have different grain type
*2 have different substrate depth

Highdee Ho!

I have four tubs. Each of the four tubs were created one week after the previous.

All tubs have been or are fruiting.

The last two tubs have shrooms that appear scaly with fat stems and polka dotted caps.

All genetics are from the same mycelium liquid culture jar.

The two tubs that have the fat, scaly shrooms are the two tubs that I used white millet spawn  vs WBS like the first two tubs.

I also increased the substrate depth on the last two tubs to four inches. The first two tubs only had two inches of sub.

Everything else is the same.

The first two tubs had normal looking shrooms.

All four tubs get the same light and the same FAE and I keep all four at roughly the same humidity.

What is causing the fat, scaly stems and polka dotted caps?

Thanks!

Conditions seem to be on point.
It may be some lecanicillium aka verticillium infection.
I´d isolate these away from the grow room.
You won´t take harm or something,
but if it is lecanicillium, you can easily spread it with misting or just opening.
The spores have a good shelf life,
and gave some experienced cultivators a hard time.
I don´t give a shit on trichoderma or other commons,
but lecanicillium can be a real disease.
