How are my chances?
    #2778438 - 06/09/04 06:01 PM (12 years, 5 months ago)

Okay i live in Hamilton Montana and i was wondering what my chances of finding Pan Subbs are in the horse pasture right next door to me. There is about 6-7 horse in the pasture and its a pretty good size pastures with lots of droppings. The current wether conditions are that last night it rained and today it has been a nice sunny day so i was planning on looking tonight or tomorrow and was just wondering what you pro's out there think my chances of finding something might be considering where i live, the season, and the conditions of the field. I'm hope for the best but who know im hoping for some positive input from you guys.

Pn subbs rarely ever grow diretly rm horse manure. However they do fruit abundantly in manure mixed with straw/hay compost as such and rarelty in lawns fertilized from compost heaps. at riding stables in stable shavings and rotted hay left out all winter to compot. Your chances of even finding enough to get higgh would be zilch in horse manure.

^^ It could take forever, pretty much until spores come and the right conditions surface for them the grow and eventually produce mushrooms.

well what he said ^^^^ for a random sub spore to jus fall on the mixture and create a mycelium probably wouldnt happen in the next week or 2. probably even longer... so just keep hunting and be patient.
