I could care less about a robot waiter honestly.
The self checkout lines though.. why the hell am I paying money to do a cashier's job. I will forever refuse to use self checkout.

The self check out knows how to give me my change back. I literally had a cashier not give me any of my change and it just felt easier to just take the loss then let them know and their ever growing extending line.

It only feels faster because they have at least 10 of the self checkout machines compared to 3 cashier checkout lines on average and you're physically working so time feels faster compared to just standing there waiting. If we actually timed it, I can guarantee it's not faster. I refuse to be duped of paying to not only gather and bag my own groceries, but also ring them up. idk this one time I was buying anti-fungal cream and the fucking dumb clerk said the the name of it out loud and was like WHAT IS THIS FOR
I would've never faced such humiliation in the self checkout line

I am not gonna slow down an already slow backing up line to then confuse the cashier about how to give change. I often give cashiers change to get only bills back and somehow they end up giving me change again and a short amount. Your average cashier has the IQ of a box of potatoes.

Don't blame cashiers for your laziness to get your own money. I also give change in order to get bills. I have never been shorted because I don't allow myself to get shorted. It takes less than 5 seconds to correct the wrong change if you're paying attention of your own money.

exactly. this is why self is faster. its true that there are some fast cashiers out there that can also bag quickly, but they dont work when i shop. i try to to go when the store is dead to avoid the crowds.

Oh I have tried before and spent 5 minutes trying to explain to them and they still don't get it so then I just told them the amount to give me and they did. I could have literally told them to give me more than they owe and they would have.
I also see cashiers post online that this even happens to them and they get fired and it is becoming a common cashier scam since cashiers can't do math, somehow the scam even works when it says how much to give back right on their screen.
