I am currently not working (due to disability), and I like to read, and I like to read fast.

Currently reading The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie. Its interesting but its been hard to focus on it with shrooms in the back of my mind.

Read through The Mushroom Cultivator faster than most books I read nowadays haha.

I haven’t read a book in years. I got incarcerated and all I did all day every day was read Stephen King novels luckily I had ways of getting them but they did not allow me to have video games or anything else fun I remember listening to a radio all day. It was by far the worst part of my life and when I try to read I feel like I’m back there in a way. I tried to read a few books I bought some hoping to read it but I might try reading today. I got this book last fall called The Three Stigmata Of Palmer Eldritch by Philip K Dick it sounded cool but I never read it. I also have a Scanner Darkly and I haven’t fully read Legion by William Peter Blatty but the Exorcist was a little confusing. Also the books are the Exorcist film and Exorcist 3 is Legion but the books a bit more disturbing than both movies.

Kitchen Confidential. The book that sent Anthony Bourdain to fame and a very successful television career (No Reservations, Parts Unknown).

It's an explicit, raw, unabashed, behind the kitchen doors look into the underbelly & life in the restaurant industry kitchen, and just how cutthroat the professional culinary world can be. It also details his rise from dishwasher to head chef in the hyper competitive NY cooking/restaurant scene.

In typical Bourdain style, it's very edgy. He has a very imaginatively descriptive style -- Hunter S. Thompson-esque. Which isn't surprising considering Bourdain looked up to Thompson.

I'm pretty early into it, but it's been an entertaining and informative read so far.

The Malcolm X book is going along nicely; I'm also dipping into my old copy of Selected Poems of T.S. Eliot. He was almost without peer.

That will probably be my next big series. I've heard good things. Mostly just plan on reading finished stories now after being hurt by ASOIAF.

yeah it's definitely nice to start series that are already finished  I feel the same way about Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicles. Malazan ranks among my favourite series I've read so far, might even be #1 - so I definitely recommend it!

The single series in fiction I most want to read. Have only read first two books.

For me, the three greatest fantasy series, in no particular order, are, Malazan, AOIAF (incomplete), and Sword of Shadows (incomplete).
