Halogen lighting
    #2777423 - 06/09/04 11:14 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I have a small desk lamp with a 35W / 12V JC Type T halogen bulb inside, that creates an intense light. Does anyone know anything about the spectrum of these lamps, and if they are a good light source for pinning/growing?

all you need is the light from a room or indirect sunlight for pinning....there is absolutely no need for special lighting... if you are opening up your grow chamber at all your casings/cakes are getting enough light

any lite works.. if u care about spectrum for a particular reason get high intensity LEDs for a few bucks and uve got a 470nm flashy lite that will run off a battery for weeks (or ur mains for 2bucks a year)
you could even use a variable resistor to control the flashy period and conduct experiments with fruit growth rates for different lite duty periods...

but like iam ses... u only really NEED lite if the container isn't being opened regularly for inspection... i know mine is exposed to ambient lite at any excuse:)
