Pins Aborting After First Cut

Hello, friends!
New grower here on my second grow. I have 13 shoebox tubs with golden teacher in brown rice and coco coir sub. One of my tubs fruited about a week before the others, and I started harvesting it yesterday.
A few mushrooms matured a day early, and I used some curved scissors to cut them. Very clean cuts, close to the sub, didn’t jostle the myc. Shortly after, however, I noticed my big beautiful pin set start to abort. By the time I had harvested everything this morning, all my pins were aborts. Dozens of them with little blue rings.
This happened with my very first grow. All 4 of my tubs produced a single flush and then aborted all the remaining pins.
What could I be doing wrong here? I over hydrated my coir on my first grow, but I remedied that for my second one.surface conditions and temperatures are great, as far as I can tell. I really baby my tubs.
I saw a lot of shrinking on this cake, more than others, but shrinking is normal from what I read. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

How many days after? It's kinda important. I'm not going to lie to you. You used rice. Don't expect a bunch. But yeah, how many days?

How many days after did they abort? It was about 16 hours after cutting the first mushroom.
Yeah I don’t expect a big, normal flush. Im using UB just to learn how to care for them and what everything looks like during the various stages of growth. This is my last UB grow. I’d like to work out as many newbie problems I can before I invest in more equipment and different infrastructure.

if the sub shrank a lot it’s possible it was just a little too dry to support the flush. i’ve had it happen on first & second flushes when my coir was on the drier side at spawn. too wet isn’t good either but you do want some moisture in the sub at spawn.

Is it possible to introduce a little more water? Trickle some down the sides of the still-growing tubs maybe?

Probably just enough for it to absorb, yeah? Like I shouldn’t have standing water?

You can probably pour around 1cm worth of water and check later it would have been absorbed.
