Hot retail numbers > increased expectations of continued interest rate hikes > dollar strength > metal weakness

This is pretty interesting. This thread was started on May 10, 2022 and Silver closed at $21.42 and we closed February 17, 2023 at $21.72! The high in between this was $24.78, which was 15.68% more than the initial spot price. We are now only up 1.04%. :jah:

Bump, silver gold bull is selling these for $29 right now, thats more expensive than a silver maple weight for weight::iamderp:

I thought I was getting them for $22 each, which is about exactly the same weight for weight as a maple, but he was letting me pick what dates I wanted so I thought it was good enough (I bought from him before and he let me choose then too)

So I took his two lowest minatge coins 57(500k) and 53(1m)

Anyways i give him the $220 and he tells me the price has come down and gives me an extra one, so I paid $20 each

Melt on 11 would be $191.18, so I paid $30 above melt for 11 coins, so about $3 premium per coin

The coins and canada website gives the 57 (500k) some numismatic value above melt, its listed as $19.40 for the condition mine is in

Yeah metals across the board getting swept. Higher inflation woes are weighing on the likelihood of more rate hikes. Not that I myself am surprised but it seems like that in between these rate hikes we keep getting these narratives that they will "stop" or "pause" / "pivot" which just seems like hopium. When the realization sets in that they federal reserve won't stop, the prices retract across the commodity sectors.

Max frustration for anyone who invests. This last week we saw it again where equities, bonds, AND commodities were all down. This leaves CASH as being the really only safe area but that's no fun

Cash isnt safe, as they tweeter towards inflation cash is going to lose value, Asante has a good point when he says stack tuna cans, commodities are really the only thing worth anything

The question is, does gold and silver getlooked at as the rarest commodity and a means to trade commodities with even units

Or a useless metal that good in solar panels and electronics only

Food is a good option if you have a little space for it and don't mind some bland food.  Oatmeal, rice, etc.

You end up saving a decent % of $$$ the next year(s) if you buy now and I fashion keeps up.

Buy sardines now while you can.

They won't be allowed to fish them in the very near future, as the populations have crashed due to overfishing and lower breeding counts. Hurrah for warming ocean waters!

Found my first silver quarter in a box

But this box has some of the (same but different) rolls I got in my last box from this bank, parts of a collection dump, whole rolls of commemorative, along with rolls that seemed to be picked through because there was 0 commemoratives
(But they left the silver????)

And an ungodly amount of horse quarters, 11 rolls, or 440 coins that I'm going to wait till daylight tomorrow and have to look for small details if any are the rare variety worth over 500 dollars, tedious work though

found a second silver hiding in with all the horse quarters

One of the rolls of horse quarters were only half horse quarters mixed with a bunch of older and new quarters and this 67 lynx quarter which is either 50% or 70% its hard to tell so they are usually sold as 60%

I searched another nickels and another dimes

I did nickels first, and I found an "extra water line" variety, where there appears to be an extra water line because of a die crack, guess what, in today's market its worth more than silver, $21 for the nickel, I could probably getmore than its worth on ebay its so tricky to find (but dem ebay fees), but until I find another (if ever) this one will sit in my album, hopefully no apocalyptic shit happenes and it holds its value as a numismatic coin till I'm 70 and start selling my collection

Some people search years for it, ive only been in the hobby 4 months or so 😁

I did most of the box of dimes and i thought i was going to get skunked, lastminute I found a "65%" silver mackeral dime, yay silver, even if just 1
