Oh and I'm hoarding nickel

I got enough face value of nickel coins to buy 2 ounces of silver

But I have a feeling in 30 years the price of nickel will rise

I got about 6 nickel nickels which is actually worth like 70 cents, just waiting for dimes and quarters to catch up, I got the 6 nickels from searching 10 rolls

After that I'll just sort them by effigy, eventually I want a tube full of every effigy, thats when I'm done with dimes

A tube holds the same amount as a roll

Oh bad luck only one of the 57 dimes plugged a hole in my album, a 1944

I got a ebay lot that plugged some holes, I'm only missing 1948 of the blue nose silvers

But I'm always looking for upgrades

Silver dimes and quarters, FTW. Check those Coinstar bins, Shroomies! I've found several this last year alone :sunny:.

Ah the coinstar doesn't take the silver weighted coins huh?
So they end up in the "reject" bin...
Genius!

Correct! Right? Lots of dimes and quarters can be found there. Keep your eyes peeled! :sunny:

This can happen as well! If you ask a bank for dimes, you have a good shot of getting one in a roll.

Acquiring more silver today .

Did a box of nickles, I was one year off of a 35% war nickel, but I got something worthmore anyways a VF buffalo nickel, maybe worth $20

And also about 50 or 60 canadian coins worth about $1 each all nickel

It was obviously someone's collection dump, being in canada I dont think I'll find a buffalo nickel ever again, let alone a first year legible one

Yeah I'm not too Ibto buying  ATM, I think it may go down sometime

February I'm going to drop my monthly money on a box of quarters and a box of dimes($750), hopefully I getlucky a third time and find a boatload of cool coins

Quarters are low luck in canada cause the canadian fed takes silver and nickel out of circulation, quarters ate targeted the hardest, next nickels and least dimes

I like to report that alongside goild, long time stagnant platinum is going up. Platinum historically has been higher valued as gold. For every 16 ounces of gold, only 1 ounce of platinum can be mined.

right now platinum mining is running into environmental and logistics issues so less is mined, investment demand is picking up.
Its a small market.

DO YOU KNOW HOW SMALL?

you know all the gold mined in all of history fits in 2 olympic sized swimming pools, right?

All the platinum mined in history fits in the average US living room.

And this stuff is currently at $1000/ounce.

Annual mining produces only 130 tons = 4 million troy ounces.
In 2016, the aboveground supply was declared to be 2000 tons = 64 million troz.

Assuming 8 billion humans, there is only 0.25gr platinum per person.
A troy ounce roughly is 125 peoples share of platinum.
Annual mining produces 16mg platinum per person per year.

Silver is the poor mans gold, platinum is the rich man's gold :smile2:

Looks like half an ounce iof silver, tis a $1000 ounce of platinum!

It's unfortunate that silver still isn't holding at $24/oz.

Theres a wall street platinum sub as well as the silver one, where everyone is buying up platinum

I do agree it should be worth more than gold, but as a metal it dosnt really interest me, like I'd never buy any platinum jewelery unless it was a deal metal wise, I'd rather wear gold and silver
