My sigma machine is back and it works now
I paid $6 for two 1968 dimes off ebay, one of then rings up fake on the sigma machine
I think the sigma machine is reading 50% coins as 80% though so I can't separate those like I wanted
Neat machine though, I got the portable one so I can take it with me when I buy

November 5th is the next raid but I won't be able to get as much, I was thinking of buying a $99 ounce from RCM, its reminiscent of the penny and I reallylike it

Otherwise I'd just be able to afford 3 normal ounces, or $5 in junk

Please keep your eyes on the ball gopher: how pretty a coin is, that value is for good times. How many milligrams of which metal, that value is for the hard times.
Like a magpie we want all the little shiny things the RCM poops out, one more pretty than the other, but ultimately if you'll get paid for metal content.
Pretty things are for when you are rich, which neither of us are, we need to focus on utility over esthetics.

I think you guys are over reacting, I'm buying a $99 coin not one of thier $500 coins, I'm only losing out on 2 ounces, November I only have $100 so I'll buy the silver penny, then I'm going to work on getting some gold for Christmas

We're not overreacting, just trying to remind you that when shit hits the fan that pretty collectible you paid 3x spot (or whatever) for isn't going to be worth any extra in trade than a generic round.
But if having real non paper inflation proof value isn't your goal, and you prefer to just collect what you like, then by all means do that!

I dropped €1K on 18.66gr of gold as 0.6 troy ounce of PAXG
note that buying a 1/2 maple + 1/10 maple would have cost me €1140.
the entire purchase took place in 2 minutes, banks have gotten fast now they must compete with crypto.

I visited a coin shop last month, one i used to go a lot a few years back. He was offering kilos of silver for 600€, not bars but old french and belgian silver coins (600 for 1 kg 999 net). Said he didnt wanna bother adjusting the price all the time.
Silver stood at 660€ per kg so i was thrilled, but didnt have cash at that moment. He reserved a few kg tho. Sad to see that now i finally got the money for em, the deal isnt that good anymore 🤣😭 I know its still a good price, not complaining but still....

dont forget the VAT. Silver bars are sold €830 now, vat included, silver coinsm, higher.
if he still offers them for 600, and you can sell to a consumer, thats 200 profits.

Well at least its on sale right now, I'll drop another $100 in November, but now I'm not so sure it will be green by may
i'm not sure either but..
i live in euro land. you know whats going on here. Ukraine is the neighbor of our neighbor's neighbor.
I don't know how low gold will go, but so far its in a wobbly equilibrium with the euro.
I think the US and NATO are weakening gold and silver since putin intends to bank on those metals. That means artificial price suppression and that translates to A BUY OPPORTUNITY because no matter how far you press down metals, like a floater in the water the deeper you press it the more force it exerts to come back up again.
i;'m not advising it but the coming months might be a BUY opportunity for gold and silver. Hurting putin's wallet means you get cheap metal.

I'm in it till may when I'll reassess, every month I put $100 into phys, pslv and paxg, instead of putting $300 into my savings account
I this 20 or 30 into crypto currency, and I make a physical buy too
And here's some silver porn

I found a guy on ebay that sells a funky canadian coin with one silver dime, and I'm collecting both, these dimes came with a totem pole toonie, a Klondike Looney, a mounty quarter and a cancer quarter

...aaand its gone. Your money, its gone.
to be precise: the euro dropped relative to gold again.
My €1000 minus fees became €997.29 worth of PAXG or a bit over 0.6oz. this is now worth over €1007 so in a day i'm up 1% fees included.
if i wanted to MAKE money, i'd be in us dollars as they are likely to go up relative to euros, but i want to have a higher certainty to not lose money while keeping it liquid so thats why I keep it as gold in PAXG.
what a tight spread, I paid 0.29% over spot. For trivial amounts of value the best liquid method.

My $200 of paxg is worth $197.25
My stock gold is down 55 cents
My physical gold would probably sell for around what I bought it for if I sold on reddit, where'd I'd make some of my premium back

breaks your heart doesn't it, taking a 1.38% loss in a time where people in crypto and stocks are losing hundreds iof thousands and going bankrupt en masse?
Not pleasant to lose even a fraction of a percent but we're on the edge of economic collapse AND ww3.
Gold isnt doing so bad my friend
"strange game professor Falken, the only winning move is not to play."
Not to play, in its purest form, at this point, is to use gold as your store of liquidity. Gold is about preservation morer than about increase. Its a hedge.
