I just invested in a presto 23 quart. You wouldn't think such a thing would not only improve the quality of your cult but also the quality of your life as you know it... ...but it does

Yeah. Would have like an 8-quart for more space. Will get an Presto next time. You have an 6 quart right? Doing both jars and bag? How much do you fill them with?

That's awesome mate. How do you ensure an sterile environment outside the pressure cooker working, do most ppl have an flow hood?

Presto 23 quart all day. Got 2 of em.
I use an instant pot for sterilizing agar, I find that very convenient what with the set and forget aspect and not taking up a burner on the stove for a few plates.

Some people have flow hoods but I would say not most of us. Alot of us use a SAB or still air box. It's just a big plastic tote with armholes cut into it and works like a charm.

I use my 8qt instant pot for all my mush cult needs.
I love the set and forget aspect of it. It takes twice as long to sterilize grain but no worries. I can load a bowl and forget about it.
It fits four quart jars at a time with a little wiggling.
I'm quite sure I'm in the minority but I have found with my small time hobby needs it is very sufficient.

For sure having an instant pot is always great. As said before for making agar, or for controlled pasteurizing. If you´re small scale and don´t mind the uptime, you´re very fine with it.

I just got back in the cult game after over a decade out, upon doing so I went to the hardware store and purchased a 120 or 130 litre tote and made the best sab I could with an inbuilt dimmer light switch - only to realize after using for about 2 hours that I'm too old for that shit now and just went out and bought a flow hood instead. Each to their own, some have mad sterile game and enjoy the sab and keeping their money for better things they want or need. Flow hoods make it a lot easier if you're serious about your cult though.
