Does anyone here still play any of the old Pokemon games? Most of the older ones are easy to emulate now so I know a lot of Youtubers make videos and challenges about the older generations. Recently I got a 3DS XL for cheap and I modded it and I have all the Pokemon games on it up until the 8th Generation of course. I have been playing through Soulsilver again. Gen 2 is probably my favorite gen of all time. SS is such a good game, the leveling system is weird, but its such a good remake. I also have X and Y on here, and Ultra Sun and Moon. I have played X and Y a million times, but I havent played Gen 7, Sun or Moon yet. I'm excited to get to play those.
Anyways, to anybody that has a 3ds laying around, I would suggest you mod it, it unlocks so much more and its such a great system!

Never got into the newer gen stuff but the older gen 1-3 is my shit. I spent a good bit of my childhood playing pokemon on gb/gbc/gba. Every once in a while i will play through them again for nostalgia or find hacked roms online. Fuckin takes me back to a time before life was hard for a while.
The DS i didn't like much so i never played HG/SS. Played diamond on an emulator like 10 years ago and i liked it. I got a switch now with platinum but i dont really play it.
Only thing i absolutely hate about pokemon games is the walking speed. I played on an emulator with the speed at 4x and i can't stand playing them at normal speed now. There is no going back.

I agree, the walking speed is always so terrible. Once I got used to playing on an emulator with speed up turned on, it's hard to go back to an original console and play. Especially with all the random encounters popping up every 3 seconds. It's nice to skip through those with speed up on. I highly recommend HGSS though if you liked Gen 2. I played Gen 1 for the first time right before Pokemon Crystal came out, and I begged my parents to get Crystal for me. So Pokemon Blue, and Crystal are the ones I have the most nostalgia for. But HGSS are really great remakes of Gen 2 though, and it includes the Physical/Special Split they did with the moves in Gen 4 so it makes a lot of Pokemon much more viable to use with either their physical or special attack. It's just a great game!
