Bout time for a thin casing layer? 1

So, is this "close enough" to being fully colonized to go ahead and add a thin casing layer or should I wait another couple days? It's hard to tell from the picture but most of the uncolonized spots have some mycelium growing on them so it's connecting to all of it.

Do you mean an actual peat bass casing or are you talking a CV top layer? Peat casings I like to add @ 100%, but that looks “close enough”.
What variety and how long since you made the tub?
If it’s a CV layer, you can add that at any point.. I’ve played around with adding a top layer 10 days after spawning etc. ideally you want a top layer to remain slightly uncolonized.. if it’s just gonna sit there fully colonized for days before it starts pinning, that’s not really a pseudo casing.. then it just becomes more fully colonized substrate.
All this is to say, you’re probably not gonna fuck it up no matter what you do lol. Subs just react differently with the timing and thickness of a top layer.. if your sub is clean, you’ll probably get the same amount as an end result whichever way you go

It's pans and I was just going to do a thin layer of vermiculite since I don't have anything else. This is about 4-5 days old.

Ive been in contact with one but I want to be safe. I'll wait another day until it's fully colonized and then give it a go lol
