Question on gypsum
    #27766171 - 05/06/22 03:27 PM (2 years, 8 months ago)

LD Carlson Calcium Sulphate (Gypsum) vs LD Carlson Gypsum, I bought the calcium sulphate gypsum both will work correctly? read in the Amazon reviews that both were fine for mushrooms. The next question would be will I find this stuff cheaper in-store? was only 9.99$ for 1lb not sure if I can buy 25lb or 50lb for cheaper. last question am I able to cook this in the water and add in my coir? I know it's mainly used for the oats/rye but my bags are already made and almost ready to be spawned don't wanna contam if it's not fine.

It isn't necessary for cubes.

Will there be no difference between cubes with gypsum or without? thought it added 10% more,

There are lots of folks who do without gypsum and do very well. I've never seen any real evidence that it increases yield for cubes.

Honestly if it's your first grow your better off learning what the mushrooms want regarding regarding growing conditions like fae, moisture, light, etc. You can start supplementing later down the road. I wouldn't fret about something that isn't required to grow these kinds of mushrooms.

Thanks will just get a refund on it for now then, and maybe in the future look into it.
