Thank you! I have fruited a couple Melmak TP X Ps. natalensis hybrids but yes this technically is the first. Although I have more hybrids at this point with different species. Cubensis and natalensis were the first species I successfully hybridized.

So maybe I'm stating the obvious but you're Yoshi's buddy that he talks about in his videos?

Indeed I am! I taught Yoshi my techniques that made his cross work possible and we've been working together ever since.

That he does and I very much appreciate it. I try to throw him a shoutout whenever possible too. It's a dream come true to be able to work on these projects to the capacity that we have. Amazing things keep happening!
I knew this year was going to be exciting and I'm even more excited to see how next year will go.

Put me down for that release. I saw that Yoshi Amani was also working on something very similar.

Has anyone performed a bioassay on the hybrid? For scientific research purposes of course.

Will do! And yeah he is, we used the same natalensis monokaryons.

Thank you very much! That's great to hear! I definitely plan on keeping it up as much as I can take on alone.
Those are great names 😆 I tossed around napetalensis for a little bit. Haven't decided on anything yet.
Alan hasn't confirmed the cross with sequencing but I was very thorough and precise in my methods so it's not really necessary. To my knowledge Jakeoncids hybrids haven't been sequenced either, at least not by Alan. Now I'm not saying there isn't any room for error, that's a given, but I am saying that I'm fairly confident. I have around 100 crosses now, maybe more.. not sure. When you're working with monokaryons you can generate dikaryons/crosses endlessly if you have access to some variety. I will probably have around 200 crosses by this time next year, maybe more. Depends on how stuck I get on stabilization.
Anyway, thanks for commenting man. Mush love
